The band's musicianship is legendary. They have a gigantic rock repertoire, not just a bunch of Sousa marches, and they pride themselves on never playing the same song twice in a day, except for All Right Now.

For those of you who don't get it, they're about FUN.

@jings1926 It's a ROCK band, in case you haven't noticed. If rock and roll is played carefully together in absolute unison, it sounds ridiculous. The form requires it to be a little ragged around the edges. As for the blaring tone -- yeah, I'm sure that's what Andrés Segovia's fans said about Jimi Hendrix, too. Apples and oranges.

They CAN play together in perfect unison -- see their satire on USC's band. They just choose not to.

@EWAdams If you didn't notice it is a marching band or at the very least a pep band. Furthermore rock bands still play in time and they do play together if they don't you hear musical problems called phasing. Unless you just listen to bad music then I can understand why you would think not playing together sounds good.

I don't even know what what that means but the fucking tree cracks me up every time. The first time I saw the Stanford band I couldn't believe how incredible they were. FREEDOM!!!!!!!!!!!
