New Vegas installed on the same hard drive as your original Fallout 3 Installation?
I didn't even have this issue with my AMD Dual Core @ 3.0GHz, and 8600GTS's in SLi... I am using the same installations of Fallout 3 & Fallout New Vegas on my 1 Terabyte hard drive.
I've gone through dozens of Driver installations since the 197 era and have never had issues like that. Looks like a hard drive issue.
Use Nvidia driver 186.18 New vegas STILL HAS THE SAME FUCKING stuttering... No fix... I hate nvidia now. They better be on top of this or I am switching my card to ATI...
@rixille No never switch to ATI, I really hate that company now their cards are hardly overclockable and I´ve had to ATI cards die in less than a year!
Now i´m having a GTX 285 and I love the card, awesome overclocking, and very reliable! My old HD 4890 gave me artifacts when overclocking the core from 870 to 900 lol.
@DProductionss2010 They died because You overclocked the fuck out of them. Cards arent made to be overclocked, They're made to do they're job. If you don't like how it runs get a better card
@DProductionss2010 rofl i hate nvidia their drivers suck ass, and why waste all of that money on a card like the ones that nvidia makes when you can get a better performing ati card for wayyy lower than nvidia??!
This probably is not a game issue. I have an laptop thats runs fallout exactly how the video shows. But I got my computer few days ago and with this new comp (which is pretty high end) there is no studder, micro studder, input lag or anything and I run the game with really really high settings. So im sure its something to do with computer setups (lack of mem, need a better gpu, cpu). Thats why you will not see a patch or 'fix' for this problem other then advanced tweaking via .ini files
This will probably never get fixed, for me it happens when i look in certain directions. Turning off AA eliminates the problem, but the game looks downright fugly then. I've completely given up on FO3, can't live without AA.
i hav d same card GTX 260 core 216, and i too have this painful stuttering, and i thot there was something wrong with my card, so i tried other games, but they run fine, its just a problem with Fallout 3, do you know a way to solve it??
Same crap i have with my powerful GTX 295 card, windows 7 x64 6gb ddr core i7 3.6ghz. FRIGGEN ANNOYING, i tryed old drivers to and the games is good, but then i have trouble with all my other games since the driver is so old. 186.18 one.
I have tried the 197.13 drivers and they aren't as bad as this but they are still worse than 186.18. With 19x+ whenver I talk to someone my FPS drops to 20 from 60 and stays like that until I reload the game!

I have no problems running this game, no stuttering...nothing.

186.18 is the most stable, with no stuttering whatsoever in fallout 3 and new vegas..

A 30 MHz overclock on the Core is not "overclocking the fuck out of them".
I've got the GTX 460 and have overclocked the core from 725/1450 to 900/1800... That my friend is overclocking the "fuck" out of them.

go to documents> mz games> fallout 3> open fallout.ini go to iFPSclamp-0 and set it to 30 or 60.....this should fix it!
