  • I would love to see this flying again one day, obviously the cost would be huge. If i am ever a wealthy businessman you can count on my support :p

  • We re welcome

    Yes, we ve kept only the Green hydraulic system, the only one we need for the nose and visor.

    It would be too complicated if we kept all the hydraulic system (main : Blue and Green; standby : Yellow) : need more fluids to compensate the leaks ; also the other circuits (The Blue) power the flight control surfaces = more danger in a museum.

  • Oh yes, cause a supersonic plane always leeking on ground, cause o-rings of hydraulic circuits are designed to be tight during the fly

    at supersonic speed; cause as in supersonic cruise,Concorde takes lenths;

    so o-rings are tight during this critical phase.

  • Okay thanks to educating me with that bit of info. I also would like to know whether or not if the hydraulic systems independent of the nose and visor have been drained or not?

  • For a second lets just say the doors at the museum were big enough to tow SD outside, what stops them from loading her up with fuel and starting the engines? I mean what's the worst that could happen? It couldn't explode or anything could it?

  • It s more complicated than you said;

    a plane is not like a car which you can let unuse for years and tomorrow restart the motor without a pb.

    So need a big maintenance, and it s complicated;

    engines could explode, and it s not the only thing, the electronics also

  • Yeah I did not realize the possibility of an electrical fire until after I posted that comment.

    Since it seems you are around SD a lot, do you ever see any fluid leaking?

  • love it thanks.Where in France?

  • In the Air and Space Museum of Le Bourget,

    near Paris
