A guy sitting in the co pilot seat of an Apache in California could control a drone in Afghanistan and share that information from the drone to every Block III, Stryker and various other systems around the world. @GREAT2BMEWHODAT Airwolf was a movie prop, not a real military helicopter. It was a Bell 222 civilian helicopter made to look like it had guns and rockets but it was not armed. BTW the Bell 222 has been replaced by the Bell 230 but either one would last about 2 sec aginst any armed military helicopter
@coletzr Longbow is an avionics system not just radar. It is part of the digital battlefield system. Only one Apache in a flight needs to have the Longbow raydome it can designate targets for the rest, or hand the target to a nearby A-10, FA-18, or F-117.

Apache... yes its a decent chopper. Its not for me... I wish I was old enough to be a pilot to actually fly this when it first came out. I dont think I would of liked it at all. in only, ever recorded fight between two helicopters, Mi-24 was shot down American Cobra. That was somewhere in the Middle East i'm not sure. Also, Mi-24 is the only atack helicopter that can carry troops in armored section!
@MrIceColdM That's because the Hind is NOT an attack helicopter. It is a gunship. It's purpose is to transport soldiers then provide air support. The Same thing the MH-60L Blackhawk variant does.

@iEugene1994 The Apache Longbow is the most advanced attach helicopter in the world. All the Mi28 has on it is armor. Besides that it's less agile and less advanced tech. The Apache could blast the Mi28 out of the sky with its AIM 92s from kilometers away.
I don't recall either of those having the best targeting equipment in modern helicopters, or radar/missile jamming, or even a good battlefield record. What's to boast about a modern "most advanced" helicopter when it's only use has been against Chechen rebels?
The apache has seen a whole ton more action than a helicopter that has only had 16 models made. If our government wanted theirs, they would reverse engineer it, but we both know which is better.

For now the Mi28 is just numbers and specs they want to release to make it look great, when it comes into wars, that's where the men are separated from the boys. The Ka52 has not been tested in true warfare yet. And we already know that the Apache has stealth tech, unlike either Kamov or Mil,and better targeting

And the Apache attacks well out of the range of any sniper, unless it's an incredible luck shot, a moving helicopter through a small window and at around a mile away, in fact arguable the best shot ever. And congrats, it take 20mm WW II artillery, lets see how well it fares against a 30mm chain gun that shoot explosive ammo at 650 rpm. from a mile away.

the apache has been used in combat and the ka-50 did not. When the two choppers will fight i won't be suprised when the apache wins because the ka-50 is much wider and so easier to hit. It's also important to keep in mind who has the best pilots.
Russia has the best pilots. The Ka-50 would destroy the Apache first. The Ka-50 has a much more accurate and deadly cannon and its vikhr-1 missiles would smash the apache to bits without being able to be jammed. The cannon on the apache is incredibly inaccurate and has poor range. How is the Ka-50 easier to hit. I don't think a faster and more maneuverable target is easier to hit. The Apache would be an easy kill for the ka-50 pilot.

The KA-50 and KA-52 are so maneuverable they must attach a G-force instrument. It can reach 4 G-force its so fucking maneuverable. It can rotating 360° during full speed flying. It has ejection seats, It has the cockpit armor from Su-25 it can stand against ani kind of AA projectile till 40mm HE. It can be started in 1minute during falling.It use the CH-25 90kg warhead

@barsjk The Black shark is the ka-50 and it is so outclassed by the apache its laughable you think its not. The Ka-52 Aligator is in the same league as the apache. Ka-52 is not in serial production yet though. At least it has a glass cockpit and all weather capability though, the BS does not. The manufacturer is about the only similarity of the Ka-50 and Ka-2.

@iEugene1994 The Apache Longbow is the most advanced attach helicopter in the world. All the Mi28 has on it is armor. Besides that it's less agile and less advanced tech. The Apache could blast the Mi28 out of the sky with its AIM 92s from kilometers away.

I don't recall either of those having the best targeting equipment in modern helicopters, or radar/missile jamming, or even a good battlefield record. What's to boast about a modern "most advanced" helicopter when it's only use has been against Chechen rebels?
The apache has seen a whole ton more action than a helicopter that has only had 16 models made. If our government wanted theirs, they would reverse engineer it, but we both know which is better.

@iEugene1994 Yes, but in this case both are modern, and both are the top of their class. The Apache is the only modern attack helicopter of its caliber to be used in actual warfare. For now the Mi28 is just numbers and specs they want to release to make it look great, when it comes into wars, that's where the men are separated from the boys. The Ka52 has not been tested in true warfare yet. And we already know that the Apache has stealth tech, unlike either Kamov or Mil,and better targeting

@BlindBusDrivr Just because warehouses are full of AH-64 and it can still handle lot of problems, we have the same situation with Mi-24, you call it "Hind" , last its modifications can competently stand next to any modern helicopters. As i say, we can fight even with muskets, they can kill too, and why not if situation allows, but there is better weapon you can get.
Speaking about Ka-52, it was released just several years ago, after inventing of atomic bomb, war is rare thing here on Earth.

@iEugene1994 obviously, there will probably never be a full scale war again. And The Hind and the Apache are not even in the same class. Mi24 Hind is a gunship, Apache Longbow is an Attack Heli. And you must be referring to the Mi35, which can compare to about the AH-1Z, but cost 25 million, to much to be mass produced. And the Apache IS the better machine. The Chain Gun, Hydra 70s, FIM 92 Stinger missiles, radar/missile jamming, incredible targeting systems, swift maneuverability, etc.etc

In addition , your Apache can be shooted down with any 50-caliber rifle by hitting a pilot , Mi-28's glass cah hand 20 mm bullets without any damage .

@iEugene1994 The Mi35 is the super hind. And any weapon? I've never seen a helicopter with a Bofors cannon or 105mm howitzer. And the Apache attacks well out of the range of any sniper, unless it's an incredible luck shot, a moving helicopter through a small window and at around a mile away, in fact arguable the best shot ever. And congrats, it take 20mm WW II artillery, lets see how well it fares against a 30mm chain gun that shoot explosive ammo at 650 rpm. from a mile away.

@iEugene1994 PS the Apache can take 12.7mm (.50 cal) to everywhere to as well as 23 mm to important rotor components, and the only reason the cockpit isn't as armored is because it is to deform in a crash to reduce force on the pilot/gunner.

@SamuelVanH. what are u talking about? cannon is inaccurate? you know that the cannon is made to where ever the gunner looks it points at it? Ka-50 is one fat ass helicoptor that was made as a two seater with the pilot and gunner side by side. modern helicopters today are made with the pilot at the back and the gunner in the front. look at your russian helicoptor Havoc. That is what you call a modern helicoptor. your ka-50 will stand a chance against the apache. your Havoc has a chance.

@samuelylee Your totaly idiot. The KA-52 has about the 4times bigger range accuracy only on his 40mm bordcanon. The Apache can not reach the same weapons range like the KA-52 or KA-50. And the Apache is fucking old the Mi-28 is a much better concept for a Attack Helicopter. The armor has about 10 years of technological evolution than Apache. The KA-50 and KA-52 has the best armor from all Helicopters designed from Su-25 armored against 23mm API,30mm and 40mm HE-shells and its the safest Heli itw

the apache has been used in combat and the ka-50 did not. When the two choppers will fight i won't be suprised when the apache wins because the ka-50 is much wider and so easier to hit. It's also important to keep in mind who has the best pilots.

Russia has the best pilots. The Ka-50 would destroy the Apache first. The Ka-50 has a much more accurate and deadly cannon and its vikhr-1 missiles would smash the apache to bits without being able to be jammed. The cannon on the apache is incredibly inaccurate and has poor range. How is the Ka-50 easier to hit. I don't think a faster and more maneuverable target is easier to hit. The Apache would be an easy kill for the ka-50 pilot.

The KA-50 and KA-52 are so maneuverable they must attach a G-force instrument. It can reach 4 G-force its so fucking maneuverable. It can rotating 360° during full speed flying. It has ejection seats, It has the cockpit armor from Su-25 it can stand against ani kind of AA projectile till 40mm HE. It can be started in 1minute during falling.It use the CH-25 90kg warhead

@barsjk The Black shark is the ka-50 and it is so outclassed by the apache its laughable you think its not. The Ka-52 Aligator is in the same league as the apache. Ka-52 is not in serial production yet though. At least it has a glass cockpit and all weather capability though, the BS does not. The manufacturer is about the only similarity of the Ka-50 and Ka-2.

now i do have to disagree with the number one pick. the AH-64 apache is consistently grounded due to electrical complications. the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior does carry a smaller armament, but when it comes to combat flight hours the kiowa has 600,000 flight hours in iraq alone. i can hands down say the kiowa is a more consistant attack helicopter. i can say this because i have hands expierience on both aircraft. if you disagree thats ok. but statistically the kiowa is a more reliable aircraft.
