Amazing song on an amazing album by an amazing band. One of my favourite songs. If you like this kind of music, you should check out ''Fragile Bones(Feels Like Home)'' by Ali Murray, or anything by Ali Murray for that matter. His music is so dreamy and sad and beautiful.
Dear everyone who quotes Karl Pilkington; are you aware of the Fast Show character Colin Hunt? Can you imagine what he would be doing in your position? Exactly as you are doing now, yes. Take a long look at yourself.
@pearlbanger Haha! That I don't mind, it's inventive. Touche(with a little 45 degree line above the 'e', I can't be bothered to find out how to do it). Though I think you'll find it's 'boswellox'.
@MizzOMA it was Deli meat tree not Delhi. As in a delicatessen, rather than Delhi, India. The clue was something about a bistro (deli) growing their own steak. Absolute bollocks either way but I just felt the need to correct you.
I saw them last night, as they opened for Iron & Wine. I must say, they were incredible. I don't know how I hadn't heard of them before. The versatility of all the members was wonderfully refreshing and their talent was absolutely breathtaking.
I learned the lyrics because if I can sing songs like this, I just feel free. I haven't got a great voice, but it's all about that feeling:) I love this song
One of the band members went to my old school. They came and preformed a couple years ago. It was a small venue with only maybe 20 students sitting on giant beanbag chairs. It had been raining that day so the room felt very humid and warm. One of my happiest memories is lying in front of the stage, my then-crush coming through the door and snuggling up against my arm as the band played this song.
This album is the best. I love music and lyrics. Champion Angel is one I find especially delightful but Oh My God, Charlie Darwin is perfect. I want it played at my funeral, if I have ever have one to send me back to the universe!
Love this band. Rather bleak view of evolution, though. Think if it slightly differently, and it's the reason we're alive. Go out and have a drink, or a cupcake.
i heard this on a bavarian radio station at 4in the morning before i got to work ... without that i most certainly wouldnt know that awesome tune. one of the rare moments when you think "everything happens for a reason"
i am trying to buy the cd but having trouble findin on the page were to buy the cd not just a song .............i love the whole thing maybe ill check a couple places on the morow

@sibowittz could you please tell me which episode of skins you heard this song in please if you can i've watched every episode and i would really like to know which episode this song came in.
@sibowittz yeah i did watch it or part of it anyway i think its the one where freddie died right? i didn't get to watch it all probably explains why i didn't hear it. thank you for letting me know though i'm gonna watch it now thanks.
took my 17 year old daughter to see these guys in london last night. she'd heard nothing by them and i'd only read about them and, thanks to youtube, heard bits..we were both bowled over and the audience just loved them. very special, talented folk
I found myself watching all their videos and ordering the CD at 1:30AM after Letterman. I anticipate when they post that performance soon. Why is it they don't get any airplay? I they make a stop in Boise on their tour.
Gorgeous. Much success to this band ... they are unique and making some beautiful music. I'm hooked. Saw them on Letterman too ... rushing to hear / buy everything they have recorded.
haunting? it reminds me of a compassionate old man beckoning his granddaughter onto his farmhouse porch to watch the setting sun across a fields of golden wheat aha not haunting.,
@toodrunktodream your correct, one of the most haunting songs ive ever heard. his voice has great sadness and this song almost always makes me cry its so haunting and lonely feeling.
@joebeeton ????? listening to LA's CD may not be haunting, but it's surely not as verbose and cluttered as the picture you have tried to paint for us. LESS IS MORE.
Yeah my English teacher was great too, he really changed/helped me in so many ways, and he had impeccable taste. Before my A level exam he produced from his pocket the Fleet Foxes debut which I had recommened to him the previous day, and then sold me his radiohead ticket. Legend.
If it works for you, it works for me. THIS is my 950th 80-or-more-hour week in a row, so the line made me want to blow my brains out. Figure it would be a waste to do that so close to a 1000 though:)
how are you living? do you love your job a TON? thats twice the hours that most human beings work. i hope that you don't blow your brains out and retire very soon so that you have all the time in the world to wait in lines to see things that you will enjoy. I am sure that listening to such soothing and spiritual music must help. good luck to you in your pursuit of 1000, 80 hr or more weeks. i know thats something i never want to accomplish. enjoy life
I really enjoy this song. I bought the CD while their NPR interview was happening. I never do that, so way to go. Small thing... "hard-earned time"... makes no sense. "Precious time"... "Treasured time"... "Cherished time".. etc... makes sense and fits the piece.
Im guessing hard earned time for pay is a different way of looking at a dead end job as in theyve earned there time on earth only to be wasting it away in a job they hate.
