  • I really enjoyed watching some of this but I do not get the bending over pin - it just doesn't make sense and there is no need to do it. Compromises a little but is otherwise really nice form and flow. Some very subtle kuzushi. Also some of the shikko is high quality - smooth and the hips and toes are doing all the work. Nice.

  • Nice one

  • Certainly leaves him highly vulnerable to others .. Nice flow though.

But then in a real world situation you would never go to the floor so really from the perspective of training and demonstration it is fair enough.

  • Very good.

  • beautiful flow and control!

  • question : why is tori "bent" and looking at uke (almost as if bowing) when he finishes? Usually people are straight and not looking at their partners to be aware of their surroundings and other possible attackers. cheers.

  • It's to apply a wrist twist similar to nikyo, which is used with the ikkyo pinning in some cases.

  • i see nikkyo

  • Nikyo should end with nikyo osae (pinning). This is ikkyo (as we do it).
