@yamomwa3 Thanx but I already have an emulator. The only thing I need is an ORIGINAL ROM of this game. I can't find this original "Legend of zelda" game which was released in 1986...
I dont have the slightest idea when I last played this game was. Fifteen years or more I'm sure. My eight year old self is very disappointed in how his adult self forgot so much of this game.
OLD SCHOOL GAMERS!!!!!!! PLEASE TAKE 2 seconds to hear my ZELDA GUITAR ORCHESTRAL. LISTEN To the second half. If you are like me, you know I have no friends. so please take a listen. If you like it, give me a 1up.
In my opinion, this is the most LEGENDARY video game ever made!!
I went out and bought a Gamecube, years ago, just so I could play this again. Turns out I should've just bought an old console, or waited for the virtual console. I didn't care though. Just to able to play this game again, after 20 years was worth the $100 I paid for that Gamecube
@seanmclachlan It came with a gamecube, years ago. It was both Zelda and Zelda II.
Since I'd, long since, gotten rid of my NES, I did not have either game anymore. It was a chance to play it again, before the Wii came out and added a virtual console to it's options
@batursi Since Nintendo decided that one of their most popular games of all time deserved a non-atrocious English translation and re-released it on the GameCube Collector's Disc, GBA, and Virtual Console, that's when
Anyone know why that level's map is shaped like a swastika btw? :P (Don't give me that "Japanese, Buddhaism bs" to prove you've read a book please ;) )
Say what you will about how old video games stack up to new games, in my mind games like the original zelda will never be surpassed. They were so much fun to play. Kids today play video games so seriously that it seems more like work than fun.
Garudoh, if you add the "_%28video_game%29" to the end of the Wikipedia link, it will link directly to the game's article rather than the series article. ;)
I'm 11, and I never got to play this game, and my nostolgic memory is filled with Ocarina Of Time and (My Favorite) Majora's Mask. I'm just glad I got to enjoy the N64 games when I was little... My older brother had an N64, so I played it a lot when the controller fit my hand... good times...
I still wish I could experience the game where it all began... *Sigh*
There's the Wii virtual console, Zelda Collector's edition for the Gamecube, finding a used NES and copy of the game, emulation...there's plenty of ways to play this game.
@BLARGHALT Actually, Dodongo does dislike smoke! Just a bomb near its mouth leaves him paralized and vulnerable to swords. Less expensive than feeding him several bombs
There really isn't much to say. This game was LEGEND! period. That nice shiny golden cartridge, the spectacular and memorable music, and that unique 'new' 4 way scrolling made possible by the brand new MM1 chip. Wow, this game was the greatest!
I loved this game! One of very few games that I had to stop for a few years and come back later to due to being completely unable to figure it out. I musta burned every tree, pushed every block, blown the whistle in every area, and attempted to walk through every wall, twice. :) Took a few years to realize durr, pay the gypsy.
Great nostalgia...reminds me of hangin' out and plaing NES all night at a budies house till 3am then watchin' scinemax until his mom busted us. Never forget ya Charlie and Nick.
I remember my neighbor and I played this really late one night and watched some movie he recorded on BETAMAX...and the movie was Fatal Attraction. :P Good times, OLD times...god I feel ancient.
I remember buying this when it first came out and calling nintendo to ask for hints, and my friends and I playing this for a month to find everything and beat it!
Oh the memories, i got my first Nes (Yeah first i have bought many when i got older on yardsells) one christmas so i remember sitting in the living room under a huge blanket playing this game and outside the was this huge blizzard, aww must say that gaming was way better in the 80s early 90s
One of, if not the first video game I ever completed, and at the young age of 5. Putting all my elder brothers, some who were nearly 20 at the time, to shame. This and Sonic the Hedgehog practically changed my life forever.
That's awesome! I was 4 when I beat this game. For some reason whenever I tell people this they think I'm like a videogame pro,but TLOZ isn't that hard.
Actually, you can do that to access the "Second Quest" at any time, not just after beating the game. However, if you do beat it, the second quest will open up for that file anyway, and the file select screen will show Link holding up a sword.
@LegendCorridor I was born in '91 and still kept the Zelda I and Zelda II cartridges that my older brothers owned.
And the first time I defeated this game was when I sat at the back of Psychology class in first year university. Good times.
