acer sucks. Mine came with a recalled graphics chip. Xo which means i can't play video games. its dumb. My inverter is going bad too so my screen flickers when i move it.

i had the same problem try to vacum the air fan sometimes it's dusty and makes your screen flickering and blinking just like in your video after i vacumed the air fan area my pc was working just fine
my screen turns black like it is off and it is not and its just the screen on my computer i have to cut off the screen then turn is back on for it to stop but it keeps happening i was wondering if anybody knows what the problem is its not a laptop its a desktop. If anybody could help me that would be great thx.

My COMPAQ CQ40 series does this too!! but it is nt as fast as the one in video and only happens for 7-8 mins upon switching on the comp, resuming windows or just a normal display switch on.

I had completely forgotten about this video, but the problem has been solved. It was a driver issue. The computer was starting to act funky back in Janurary so I set up xp and ubuntu in dual boot. I started configuring ubuntu first and it nevr once showed signs of this problem.I redownloaded the driver from ATI's site and applied it. I am not sure as to why it works now, I got the drivers from the same location on the site and installed it the same as the many times before.

Ive make everything...BIOS update, Drivers update, Clean Instalation, Linux Live CD test... everything... he makes ramdom crashes, Bios beep saying something wrong with the graphic card and now dont even work.. and guess what.. after 2 years, no warranty anymore :(

well if you don't have warrenty / bother replacing your monitor and tried resting the cables and hinges , it's toast can be used at best for overnight bittorrent
my acer apsire 5100 does the same thing when I come out of sleep in XP. its definitely not a connection problem. it is a problem with the video processing system, but I don't know how to fix it. a temporary fix is to not allow it to go into sleep mode.

@HereticalGodz Changing the setting power plan in your laptop solve the problem. I just try that with an HP Pavilion. I just changeg from HP Recomended to High Perfomance and now my computer is working good and is not flickering. So now I need a new battery because now the battery life is very short.
my new dell laptop Inspiron 1501 does the same, im afraid to open it up to try and repair the connecters, is there any tutorials or guidelines I could follow? Thanks!

yeah my del inspiron 1501 does the same thing to... just all of a sudden it would start flickering and shit when i open it an shit...
i just reseted the setting in power options and changed when the computer shuts down the display and after that i havnt had a problem..

Looks to me like loose connections from the monitor - motherboard - it shouldn't be too hard to reattach.
