  • you can double the size and 1/4 the weight and increase the rigidity with gavanised pipe and it should last forever , for the wheel hub use a galv t piece on its side and attach the wheels with a butterfly bolt .you could use old (kiddie) bike wheels and get some real ground clearance easier to move over a distance

  • @dahistoryman maybe next build....Thanks for sharing brother!

  • nice man

  • @phxarcher87 thanks!

  • wwwwwwwwwooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo go chickenz check out funny kids with eifle tower

  • How Many Hens would that be good for?

  • @Stallbizzle If I had enough roosts would fit probly 15-20...but I would let them out every day. to get some space.

  • What would you do in the winter?

  • @loves2spin2 Just put some plywood sides during the winter.....not the whole thing ..just around the roost

and they will be warm......thats what you wanted to know right?

  • I always assumed that the roost should be closed in for weather protection but you seemed to have left it open. Any specific reason you think having an open roost is better? Also, why put the nesting boxes apart from the roost?

  • Great video, great job building the tractor.

But I am at a loss. How so were the hippies right?

  • @TheSunergizer Thanks.... the hippies were right about the brownies!

  • @TheDJMASON That's a good idea! Thanks bro!

  • johnny knoxville makes a chicken tractor!! sweet!! jk awsome design man. i think i'm gonna copy ya sir.

  • @jreclaim right on! Build you one bro!

  • She is awesome-you have to adore her. She is always bailing you out when you make a mistake-and she does it to make you look good. Thanks to both of you for everything you do!!!

  • @polylingue Thanks for that! My wife has a terrible time editing these video's because I never talk about the same thing for very long....ocd....oh well..haha...lol

  • Nice video. We are moving out chickens from the barn to tractors. Trying to decide which design to use. I'm stil rooting for the A frame, but this one looks easier to move around.... Hmmm. Good job! Thanks for sharing.

  • @FarmScapeGoods Well, the a frame is all good but you have less options like bell waterers....thats where the flat roof is better...plus you can build this in a weekend...my a frame tractor took more roofing making it way heavier.....personally i think you are doing the right thing..I would never make another coop I can't move by myself.

Plus they eat way less feed.

  • totally love the chicken tractor, this is encouraging to make one myself .... awesome job :-)

  • @tenmilechicks Thanks! I tried.....This has been the best one I have made.

  • @london1817 what is that 8x4

  • @allamericanTRAPPER Yes....and then about 33" tall..

  • @london1817 how doo u upload a vid cast i got that 1 vid of the no freeze water heter

  • @allamericanTRAPPER Click upload button in corner of screen...you can do it!

  • I watched this video to see just WHAT a chicken tractor was.. :) Good build!

  • @a2sidedcoin Thanks! I think its the best coop ever built.

  • Nice!! what about the sharp edges with the roof any way around that? You selling your other tractors? I may be moving to the Charlotte area. Great job!! wish I had building skills.

  • great job london.you other guys check out amazon for pastured poultry profits by joel solitan

  • Great job with the tractor. This vid reminded me of a rooster I had some years ago. He was a Rhode Island Red and he belonged to my horse riding instructor. We [students] would get to the barn early and play with her new baby chicks. Percy was a new rooster and he would come to us every time. She finally got tired and when I moved my horse to my property she sent Percy along. He was so tamed that people would come to get their pic taken with the 12 lb tame rooster. :-)

  • what size is your tractor? i have built a few myself but i like this design. good job!

  • Great video. Thanks keep them coming you give me lots of ideas.

  • How many hens would you recomend for this coop..? GREAT VIDEO.:-}

  • Is the wood treated?

Do you have to keep any foxes or killers out?

    Thanks

  • Very good video, I enjoy the work you do.

  • @AugsterA Thanks!! I try!

  • I don't have chickens, so tell me why this is good to have vs a normal coop/chicken house...

  • @MZMStudios this is movable so you can rotate them around your yard and keep them on fresh grass where a normal coop is stationary

  • @jhid145 But don't most coops have a floor? What's the purpose of keeping the chickens on the grass? ...aside from not having to clean up chicken poop all the time... lol

  • @MZMStudios so they can stratch around and eat bugs and worms

  • @jhid145 I guess it's good if you don't have a lot of room to build a coop with an enclosed "yard" for them, huh?

  • Great vid. How do you get the chickens in and out of the coop? Did I mid another door?

  • @spence0324 They don't come out..If there is a problem I can go in and get them thru the feed door.

  • what state do you live in?

  • @AridSea NC.....the foot hills.
