This is what happens when a man surrounds himself with nothing but ass-kissers for almost two decades. He was never a very good lyricist but this was like a new level for him.

I don't think the sadness of his songs has to make you sad, in fact, it is what i listen to when i feel most depressed, and his music has always made me feel so much better. if NIN didn't exist, i don't know what i would've done when i was a teenager. And i still feel the same about it today.

i think it's about you have to love yourself as much as you can, because we're all alone now and we will be forever i know, you can say that there is your girlfriend,boyfriend etc. but what if you have no one..? please people don't identify yourself with everybody you meet in your life because no one is the same one as you. there will be lots of person who will slight you everytime. and if you can't accept this,if you can't love yourself, then you can hang yourself tomorrow.

@zyph4lights Oh I do agree, he is amazing considering most modern day musicians don't even know what he did musically in this song... the song hosts a unique melody and harmony as the last quarter of the song the harmony melodically switches octaves above the melody which is rare outside of the classical/orchestra music world
