i've lived in victoria for 15 years and still going but i want to move to vancouver, it truly does get boring once you know the city. it takes me like 40 minutes to bike to downtown and thats all the excitement there is because its like a retirement island
What I remember of Victoria was log littered beaches, cold ocean water, rotting sea weed on the shores, people living on the street, over priced homes, low paying jobs, unroadworthy cars, dumping of raw sewage in the ocean, a major car theft problem, people working for cash only, high priced ferries, collecting bottles to earn an extra dollar, and many people living close to the poverty line. Thank god for helping me find a way to move out of that city of denial. Oh yes, people lie a lot there.

No, the wales don't like us shitting in the ocean. But they do like their foodsource, salmon. Which grow in the rivers in the interior of British Columbia. When you introduce a treatment system for human waste you require chemicals, along with VAST amounts of energy- which require damming the vital rivers the salmon need for habitat, end result-whales suffer. Vic isn't perfect, but ill take the educated/friendly/compasionate people in victoria anyday( was the church unfriendly?)

Hello tykca - When I lived in Victoria, every time I flushed the toilet, I'd yell out "Feeding time", as I knew what I just flushed was going straight to the whales for lunch. I think that a month of staight rain can have an effect on any human, especially in a city that has such good summer weather.

Hello tykyca - When I lived in Victoria, a friend of mine who operating whale watching tours had told me the count went down from 125 to 80 whales. Experts were saying the whales were not giving birth due to the quality of the water? Mr.Floatie tried to make a major issue of the situation, but an oriental mayor had his lawyers shut him up. I escaped from Victoria three years ago, and now live in Ontario "where there is much more prosperity". Any honest person would admit that Victoria has no meaningful employment opportunities, the homes are all over priced, and the government there doe snot care about poor people. The residents continually tell lies, which is why it is called "The City Of Denial". The car theft rate is the highest in Canada, and people are so poor they collect bottles for refund.

I realized she was athletic and demonstrated intelligence and could have put her mind to work pursuing a legitimate career.
Ironically this was Victoria. A beautiful island of monopolized wealth.
