  • Starting from0:37 is that the sound, it sounded like a truck that's miles away

  • @ROFLFOSHO

No it's the sounds at 0:15 and 0:19 I have boosted the volume at those 2 parts. it is a high pitched squealing sound and it's heard throughout the video. I think it might be birds sleeping or some other animal.

  • @coondogtheman1234 oh then was that the sound of a truck in the dist??? at the time i said?

  • Bat?

  • dude fisher cats are fuckin scary

  • I used to live close to the woods it's a fox or fisher cat.

  • @cupcakelol2017907

I need a FLIR thermal camera like on ghost hunters.

  • @coondogtheman1234 lol that would be awsome!!!!

  • @cupcakelol2017907

yeah I'd use the hell out of it and i'd make some cool youtube vids with it. just need a portable DVR that records composite video to an SD card and has sound and I need a mic that connects to analog R L line in audio jacks so I can narrate what is being seen.

  • that sounds like an owl

  • whippoorwill

  • it sounds like some sort of animal, maybe an insect or bird?

  • hawk

  • Arcof Jupiter is absolutely correct. It's a barred owl owlet. Go to owlcam.com - they have tons of barred owl sounds recorded, including owlets.

  • this is the sound of a barred owl - owlet - that has just emerged from the nest but cant quite fly and is calling to the parents for food or companoinship. know this to be a fact because I had one come very close and could visually identify it after looking at photos of them. there you go! very errie huh?

  • Maybe your nose is whistling

  • That's weird, it's like a Bat noise, but extended

  • that is a flying squirrel i believe it aint a firsher a fisher screams like a baby it must a a flying squirrel

  • that is a flying squirrel sound

  • sounds like some kinda rodent

  • What the hell is that it's like a horror movie!!!!!

  • oh thats easy are you ready it's a rabbit trust me it is.

  • Listening again I now remember hearing this sound before. It was coming from a tree next to a cabin I was staying in and went on for some time.

    I have to say owl.

  • It's definately a bird.

I would say an owl of some kind, maybe a barn owl or screetch owl.

    It can't be any mammal.

    I'd definately go with owl.

  • I hate freeway traffic at, too. It can be quite disturbing at night, especially when you're trying to sleep.

  • yeah its not that bad it dies down in the morning house like 12/1 AM in the morning.

  • definately on the right track with the fisher, because it may be a weasel.

  • it's a juvenile Barred Owl folks

  • i think it might be a bird's mating call. thats probably why its' so continous.

  • The more I think about it, the more it reminds me of a bat. Fishers stay away from each other, but bats are often found in groups--thus the multiple screeches simultaneously.

  • Hard to hear, but the few screeches I caught sounded like bats.

If it were a fisher, you'd know. Think child screaming--blood curdling. That didn't sound quite like a fisher, but again, it's hard to tell. The repetition is right for both fishers and bats.

  • really that isnt scary if u have heard a bird make a sound before!!!!

  • This is definitely an owl. My husband and I heard this sound one night and didn't know what it was. A few weeks later, we heard it during the day and followed it to discover an owl nearby making the sound. A few days later we spotted her and her two owlets in tree all making this sound. Not so freaky now that we know what it is. The adult is a fairly large owl.

  • Omg thats like what i heard last night! and i still have no clue what it was.

  • i think its a bat becuase there was a bat that was on our deck underneath the kiddie table and my dad went to pick it up and put it in a tree and it made a high pitch ni=oise EXCACTLy like that!

  • Its an Owl...and maybe he never heard an Owl before,so lay off the smartass remarks.

  • what the hell??

  • Actually the sound I'm hearing appears to be a flying squirrel. They are nocturnal and live all over the US and make a high pitched whistling sound.

  • so you are well informed, a fisher cat sounds like a small child screaming and what you have recorded is NOT a fisher cat. I hate the noise they make. It sounds like someone is in desperate need of help screaming. So no that is NOT a fisher cat at all !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I know its not a fisher cat, i think its an owl or something

  • that is the sound of a screech owl. I use to hear them all of the time in New Hampshire where I use to live having 16 acres of land mostly woods

  • What the Fuck is that Sound...

  • I dunno I was hoping someone on here who hunts or knows about animals in the woods would know. thats Y I put this video on here.

  • owl, a fisher cat is alot louder

  • fisher cat noise trust me

  • I love ghost hunters

  • me too love that show Jason and grant are cool

  • I know EXACTLY what that is. I have them at my home. That is a Barred Owl. I've had them right over head on the power lines at night making that sound. Even photographed them. So, mystery solved. I JUST heard a Fisher Cat screaming here in the woods about 15 minutes ago and that sound is wicked scary. I came to the Internet to try and see if I could hear an example of a Fisher and found more than one here. This though is the Barred Owl. They're beautiful. I hope you get to see one.

  • It's a fisher cat.. Nasty creatures

  • its an owl

  • i agree one hundred percent we hear them all the time no fisher cats in iowa but owls that sound like that

  • yea but fishercats make more of a screach sound not a wissle

  • its a hungarian leguana

  • could it be a young bird waking up and sending a distress call b/c perhaps the fisher or another predator is up in the trees hunting near them?

  • lol you think so? they do hang around my area and they eat the pine cones i see the munched ones lying around so i throw them into the woods for them to eat lol the pine cones too

  • its the brown noise!!

  • thats nothing, back at my old house, everynight around 3-4 am, i heard this terrible screaming sound that i couldnt tell was a guys or a woman's, one day i talked to my friends about it and they say that they hear it too, we figured it mustve been somekind of manmade object and left it alone

  • do you have any recordings of it video or audio? and if its a screaming sound then its probably a bear cub stay away DO NOT investigate the sound b/c there might be the mother around, i heard this while taking out the trash to the street and i wouldnt even go outside unless i had a real gun on me so i can protect myself. or you could get a large RC vehicle that can go in any terrain and put an audio/video transmitter on it and then try to find whats making that noise and get it on video

  • we have the same thing we think it is a fisher cat

  • yeah its probaly some bird..u can probaly look it up online..do u a bird sanctuary in u'r state so u can see what birds it might be? or u could go to a bird store or a wildlife center and show them u'r vidio or immetate the call u'r self

  • actually im thinking of going out there one night with my camera and mp3 player recorder when i hear it and seeing how good a recording i can get and maybe a live video if i see anything, should I bring a gun in case something tried to attack me lol

  • u'r probaly not gunna see anything. if the animal is a nocturenal animal i know's more about where it is then we humens will ever know and we wont ever see it unless it lets us..(trust me i'v tried with plenty of owls and such) also if u get close to it,it will stop making its call..like crickets. but i guesss its worth a shot.

  • well there is fisher cats they r nocturnal and there are coyotes too but they r more afrad of mus than we r of them plus ill have my airsoft shotgun

  • yeah. i go out in the woods alone at night all the time and im not scared. i dont even bring anything to defend myself with. actualy the woods is the only place i realy feal safe.=) cuz u know there are animals and too me people are more scary. nothing will hurt u out there unless there rabid

  • its not a fisher cat or a bug its a bird..i forgot what kind but we heard it at camp and i asked what it was and they said it was some sort of bird but i forgot what kind it was..

  • so its possibly birds sleeping but i hear fainter ones in the background and sometimes they prob wake up and chirp i hate that especially at 2 in the morning

  • sounds like a bat or something

  • Maybe it's a bird or an insect. Or some mammal.
