You should come to carleton and teach the economics course load...just all the courses...this is better explained than almost any of my profs can manage. Great videos!
It looks like there's a small mistake. Between 1:30 and 02:40 you write that C = [v_i][c_j] = a. You write that your n-by-k matrix C is equal to the matrix whose columns are the v_i, multiplied by the colomn vector whose entries are the c_j. In other words, the n-by-k matrix C is equal to the n-by-1 vector a.
Very helpful but just a tip: I find it helps to write what row operations you are using beside the matrix before I move on. This would also make it a bit clearer, but overall great stuff thanks for the help!
you are the man Sal!!! how come professor make everything so complicated???? I wish you were the one in class explaining to me man...both my parents are mathematicians, and I'm doing a minor in math to in a way make them proud and think you're going to help me make it man thank you so much. I think it's a great thing what you're doing..i just wish i would've known about this videos before. BTW I'm a big fan of yours and i'm trying for all my friends to use your videos...including my dad...AJ
I do know what it is about these videos but you seem to have a knack for making complex maths problems seem trivial. I have been trying to read about change of basis matrices in two textbooks and was terrified then I found this and went "ohhh that's all it is". Thanks.
Thank you. I Guess this isn't the hard concept, but for wahtever the reason, the notation always seemed unnecessarily heavy, which made it hard for me to really grasp how this works.
Thank you so much for your videos! I'm a physics student and you have helped me understand so many principles of mathematics that I haven't been able to understand in lectures or textbooks! Thank you so very much!!

Sir, you are the Frank Zappa of higher mathematics.
If there was an Oscar for educational videos, you'd get it for this one alone!
Keep 'em comin' Sal...
P.S. Could you put the ones at this level in a particular order - like a playlist or something?..

great explanation, but it wasn't necessary to rref the augmented matrix in your example close to the end. The answer was extremely obvious.

What software do you use for your (I presume) tablet interface? I use Autodesk Sketchpad, but I like the layout of your program much more.
