We have all fallen short and done things to go against God including homosexuality ( I dont like to say gay, it used to mean something else) Im not worthy but He makes me worthy, the trick is to learn from our sins and try to turn away from them with His help. If Ray had never come out, you & a lot of other people would still be playing his songs in your home/car, buying his cd's, maybe even singing his songs in church. I have been In his moms house several times. For Heaven sake, his daughter Elizabeth took pictures for my parents for their 25th wedding anniv party!

(Before you ask, I'm straight, BUT I was a keyboard player (the only musician for a long time) in a church primarily set up to minister to Gay and Lesbian Christians. We (the church) had more problems from "straight Christians" then we did with some drag queen coming in from an all night drunk, knowing good and well they didn't deserve to be in our church, but we welcomed 'em in anyway.

I'm not sure if you're saved and I hope you are. Pray about it and if you don't feel right listening to his music then don't do it. I'm learning christian metal. Some people don't think it's right to play christian metal but I disagree. They simply don't listen to the metal and that works for them. When I play it, it helps me draw closer to God.
That guitar however can also be used to play christian music. Just because the guitar could be used to play satanic music doesn't change the sound of the guitar. Also something that should help you. King David in the bible had a stuggle with a sexual sin. He killed a man so he could have his wife, yet still he was forgiven. No one is perfect and God knows we're going to make mistakes. If we were perfect we would still be in the garden. No matter the sin the blood of Jesus covers all. David was forgiven because he repented heart and soul. Nathan the prophet came to him, reprimanded him, and said that there would be severe repercussions because of his sin. David begged God's forgiveness, heart and soul, and was forgiven, not out of the blue, but because he put his faith in the future Messiah and the mercy of his God. This is one of my favorite songs by one whom I used to consider an amazing Christian artist. I was also very disurbed by his announcement. And claiming to be closer to God after it is ludicrous. The "churches" he sings at now are not real Christian churches. I will, however, say that Ray will be held accountable for his sins just as you or I will. I repent of my sins. I hope that Ray will listen to his own advice and do the same.

(Before you ask, I'm straight, BUT I was a keyboard player (the only musician for a long time) in a church primarily set up to minister to Gay and Lesbian Christians. We (the church) had more problems from "straight Christians" then we did with some drag queen coming in from an all night drunk, knowing good and well they didn't deserve to be in our church, but we welcomed 'em in anyway.

@Hangmn8 I was raised that homosexuality was a choice and anyone who chose to be one would burn. I'm straight, but given the choices I've made in my life with men...I'd have rather been gay and choosen someone who wouldn't drag me down and leave me with no self esteem. I've never been married and at 52 I finally come to realize I don't need an earthly man to fill my cup~~I have Jesus in my heart and He is the only "man" I need in my life. Thank You for sharing.

Why is my sin any less the yours? I'm not homosexual but that doesn't make me any better then some one who is. If I told you I thought Homosexuality was OK, I would be lying, I could tell you how wrong I think it is and show you scriptures to back it all up but what good would that do either one of us? None.

All sin in the eyes of God is the same. To say one is okay and one is not would be calling God a liar. As for christians once saved we are to turn away from sin, not embrace it. I am not homosexual, but have freinds who are. They know my stance on the subject , but know I love them the same as my family.

We've all fallen short of the grace of God. Anyone who says they haven't is lying. I'm not homosexual, but I have sinned in other ways. I have no right to judge. lol When I hear people at work saying that all gay people are going to Hell because it's a sin, I ask them how many of them are virgins or were virgins before they got married. No matter what excuse they give I remind them the Bible says it's a sin the same as homosexuality.

I'm not sure if you're saved and I hope you are. Pray about it and if you don't feel right listening to his music then don't do it. I'm learning christian metal. Some people don't think it's right to play christian metal but I disagree. They simply don't listen to the metal and that works for them. When I play it, it helps me draw closer to God.

That guitar however can also be used to play christian music. Just because the guitar could be used to play satanic music doesn't change the sound of the guitar. In other words I'm saying this, although he may be gay that doesn't change his music. He's not said to be gay so I don't see the problem. You can still use his music to influence people for the lord. I'm also saying that the tool has no control over who uses it.

One last thing to consider is how long ago that was he said that. You also need to consider that God will be confronting him on it if he is gay. Regardless your sin is between you and God. All I can do for example is point out a sin to you if I see you commit one. You have to decide whether or not to repent because I can't make that decision for you. Also think of it this way, although you can use a guitar to play satanic music does that mean that a christian band shouldn't play them?

To clarify I'm not saying it's okay that he's supposed to be gay. I say supposed because I don't know if he is or not. Yes I understand that looks bad and it is. Let me ask you this. For example say you had a drinking problem for example and you wanted to quit. Suppose a guy offers to help you quit by showing you what the bible says and offering to help you not to get anymore beer for example but the guy is gay. No one else will help you, do you accept his help, or reject it because he's gay.

Regardless of him being gay or not the lord has still used him to help save thousands. No one is perfect. As I stated earlier David struggled with a sexual addiction and his son Solomon had over 900 wives. Regardless of what they did they still repented and were used by God as they were.

Also something that should help you. King David in the bible had a stuggle with a sexual sin. He killed a man so he could have his wife, yet still he was forgiven. No one is perfect and God knows we're going to make mistakes. If we were perfect we would still be in the garden. No matter the sin the blood of Jesus covers all. David was forgiven because he repented heart and soul. Nathan the prophet came to him, reprimanded him, and said that there would be severe repercussions because of his sin. David begged God's forgiveness, heart and soul, and was forgiven, not out of the blue, but because he put his faith in the future Messiah and the mercy of his God. If Ray is a homosexual, he should recognize it as sin and fight it his whole life, as we are called to do.

Let me offer some insight here. We know the homosexuality is a sin. 1st Corinthians 6:9-10
We know that Jesus died for our sins. Pick a verse. Next we know that anyone can be saved. Romans 10:13
Also notice in the old testiment when the israelites were leaving egypt. It took a day for them to get out of egypt but it took 40 years to get the egypt out of them. Also if you don't ask for Jesus to forgive you he can't. He doesn't force salvation onto you.

Its kind of evident that Ray Boltz has faith in Christ but he is in a spiritual battle and needs our prayers to help him. His music has healed many souls and saved many lives. It is our duty to take help our carry our brothers burdens (Galatians 6:2)

Have you ever thought of becoming a Diciple of Jesus Christ,following his example. This is one of my favorite songs by one whom I used to consider an amazing Christian artist. I was also very disurbed by his announcement. And claiming to be closer to God after it is ludicrous. The "churches" he sings at now are not real Christian churches. I will, however, say that Ray will be held accountable for his sins just as you or I will. I repent of my sins. I hope that Ray will listen to his own advice and do the same.

yes, we are all sinners.
but when we repent and put on the Lord Jesus, then and only then are we saved. yes, we will stumble. but to live in a lifestyle of it questions whether or not we were really saved to begin with.
