  • iam crying

  • Greece we actually love you such a cultural beautiful country.. Greetings from your neighbour Turkey.... Awesome culture awesome lullaby... We owe you for somethings we know that...

  • This is beautiful and touches on a good number of the Greek stories even if you cannot understand the language.

I was able to spend a few days in Greece a few years ago. To my knowledge my family is not Greek, but the beauty of the land spoke to me. I have been a good number of places, but I would have a difficult time matching the beauty of Athens.

  • I thought this was French... Fais dodo Cola mon p'tit frère, fais dodo t'auras du lolo.

  • Same here! lol, i need it for a project in Literature! :D (lyrics in Greek then translated to English) :)

  • lyrics please... =)

in Greek & translated to English

  • Aww greece :) proud to be greek!!!

  • There is the same in French, I didn't know it was international ?

  • @josephinedevesle fais dodo cola mon petit frère?? moi c'était la version de ma mère

  • I love it.

What does it mean, I wonder...

  • lovely :))

  • Love it. As a Turkish person, I love Greece. What a beautiful country.

  • great.joın eurovision :D:D:D

  • Одна из самых красивых колыбельных! Belle!!!

  • Ελλάδα μου λείπει η χώρα μου μπορεί να έρχομαι στο σπίτι κάποια μέρα.

  • My child just loves this lullaby!!! Thank you :-) I try to sing it to him, but I am not completely certain about the accuracy of my words.....lol

  • Dear 30aris Oh thank you so kindly for your help. You have answered some questions at least for me and short of me singing the short excerpt to you that I can remember (badly) I can give very little info (I was a baby!!!) . I'm not sure it's even Greek!!! Dad served all over the place in Middle East/Greece including the civil war that took place in Greece around the end of world war 2 against the communists. Best regards Neil

  • very lovely lullaby, my 10 months child loves this one

  • GÜZ SANCISI isimli filmde yunan kızın söylediği şarkı :)

  • the best lullaby after azeri.... BEST BEST BEST

  • i know this lullaby but in french it is "fais dodo, cola mon p'tit frere"

  • hello hello

  • does anyone please know a Greek nursery rhyme/lullaby song that goes something like this and sounds in English like "Tomarcher (tomorrow perhaps?) Sweeter Gleeker Tomarcher". My late dad served with the British Army out there in Greece in the 2nd World War, and after, and when I was a sick baby would sing this to me through the long nights.

  • @neil03152 Tomorrow in Greek is "avrio". There are thousands of lullabies in Greek. Do you remember where exactly did your father serve? The words you remember actually make no sense in Greek, except "Gleeker". This is probably the word "gleeke'" meaning "sweetheart" (when someone addresses a boy/guy)

  • @30aris

sorry didn't know how to reply to you directly so I wrote my comment on the lullaby page near to your comment before I spotted this "reply" option. Is there any way of contacting you to "sing" the first line that I can remember. I'm probably adding 2 and two together and getting 5 in this forlorn chase ,and I may be flogging a dead horse here, but it's something that I must do. I would give you my email and tel number now but not sure if it goes onto the lullaby site.

  • NmkmL

  • Beautiful video, music very nice, thank you very much !

    Best regards of the France.

    Marie.

  • This is sweet and tender. I love the Greek culture. I love the animation and characterization in this video. Thank you very much to the lovely person who sent this to me. :-)

  • my grandchild loves this video. At seven months she will watch it at least eight times a sitting and cry as the mother puts the child to sleep so I will start it again. Thank you.

  • I love this although I don't understand a word. I hop it's on the Ninna Nanna CD (track 4) I found on amazon.....

  • i love this lullaby. thank you a lo.

  • The melody is similar to an old french lullaby saying

Fais dodo, Colas mon petit frere (Go to sleep Colas my little brother)

Fais dodo t'auras du lolo (Go to sleep, you'll got some milk)

No need to say that this version sounds much better to me :)

Can someone translate this verion to english?

  • soryy lulaby is bad :( i dont sleep

  • I'm going to take a wile guess here and say this lullaby is about Odysseus

  • @LMFAOASAP Just the video shown is about some oarts of Ancient Greek History (as written on the book in the beginning of the song) ... the lyrics are of a typical lullaby - I think - (talking about the baby and its sleep...)...

  • I love this song and would like to find it on CD or as an MP3 file...and anyone help? I have had no luck with google

  • zapre

  • Thanx for the upload

  • I am from India, like this terrific tune. Trying to picking it up on my Harmonium. One song can sing for the entire civilization, heritage and culture. I am planning to teach my 8 year old son this one for his school function. But need to get the lyrics and some background of this song.

  • Thanks for sharing Alberto, a beautiful video indeed.

  • Ohh ! İt is so sweet...so soft..

    Nanî nanî nanî..

    Lorî lorî lorî...

like peace in arms of mumy...

  • kalo

  • I love this lullaby itz one of my favorites my grandfather used to sing this to me when I was little it brings back great memories :)

  • By the way I understand now why we call a Lullaby a "Ninni" in turkish. Nanni nanni, is our ninni de bebegime ninni :)

  • Seriously man can't u speak English??? What kind of illitarate person are you??

  • @jasc1453 o değil de senin gibi öküzün sayfasında grup yorum ne arıyor onu anlayamadım? herhalde solcu değilsindir sen böyle hayvan gibi konuşan solcu olmaz.

  • "Nenni nenni ..." is what my mom used to sing to me when I was a baby very much like in this song, but then again I was born in the Balkans.

  • Great song i love just like the Turkish one!!

    Ellada Hellas!!

  • Translation:

"Mommy, mommy today we are lost! Mommy mommy we are obsessed with post-Periclean fundamentalist monotheism! Mommy mommy we lie about Albanian culture which is pre-dates our own and Mommy mommy, the ancient stories come from Pelasgo-Illyrian-Thracian-Dacian oral history which we documented with Phoenician script, inspired from the Hebrews."

Wow! that's a lot to teach a child, but at least the nation that follows would be a real nation with honest people... :-(

  • @balkancoolhead for a person to come to a childrens lullaby and cause problems means he is a truly sick individual. Get a life and get help. Face the fact that Greece gave the world light and stop feeling sorry for your pathetic self.

  • @gkourli1 ... if your culture had any respect for Pelasgians, Phoenicians and Hebrews, then i would tip my white skull cap to you and honor you as the inheritors of that ancient light...but since you are a fanatically religious reactionary neo-byzantine racist state that discriminates barbarically against immigrants and supports Karadzic & Milosevic as heroes (at the highest religious & political levels), then i have to inform you, sadly, that you are more closely related to darkness than light.

  • @gkourli1 ... but i agree with one point, that these kids are too cute for this kind of talk, so i will not post anymore here as long as i am not insulted any further...

  • masonic

  • this is not a lullaby its isck dreams of skirted gays

  • it's very good. but there is too much action for a lullaby, i can never go asleep

  • wow thats pretty! and i like the language! ive never heard greek before! its so freakin beautiful. but i wanna know what it means now.

  • that's so great song

  • awesome! katapliktiko! bravo!

  • with which computer program have the pictures been animated?

  • This sounds a bit like Fais do do...but that's in French XD

  • this song dont have title ... mother or futher tell some songs like this on a little boy or girls for sleep sorry for my english is sh1t.... i am from greece....

  • Naw, dont worry, i understand, i like stuff like this. i feel this is way better than what we have here in america. I like Turkish lullabies the best though.

  • is it possible to know the title of this lullaby? beatiful , very sweet. Thanks for sharing

  • was it just me or did i see boobs

  • schön!

  • Yeah, and most of the rest of the world think both Greeks AND Turks need to shut the fuck up and get a life.

  • my dad was greek and this reminds me of him.

  • I've got Greeks in my Familly too, I've heard this song before... :-)

  • nenni nenni bebek nenni uyusnda büyüsün nenni...

lan ne hırsız bir millettir bunlar yaa !!!...

  • Aptal aptal yorum yapmayın ne kadar dar görüşlü insansınız siz ya burda bile politik yorum yapıyosunuz :( All lullabies are great. I loved the Greek Lullaby.

  • @jasc1453 Valla güldürdün beni. Yorumundan kimin ezik olduğu belli oluyor. Çok eziksin, çooook...

  • @TURKOMAN Kesinlikle katılıyorum. Hangi dilde olursa olsun, ninniler bir insanın annesinin dilinden, "anadilinden" duyduğu ilk sevgi sözcükleridir, bu yüzden tüm ninniler güzeldir. Ve bence de bu ninninin melodisi harika... I am going to have my baby grow up hearing lullabies in different languages of the world!

  • bence de

  • it doesnt matter if its greek or turkish. my sun loves both of it very much also the french one. its all about the education if your child is openminded or not.

  • @GreekMythsAnimated you are right! It's a special language..Universal! My kids love to listen to different version. They understand the metaphore..

Amazing video by the way! Mythological journey! Merci!!

  • @GreekMythsAnimated - You could have replied to this a little bit less rudely.

  • @GreekMythsAnimated

dude, kids read these comments, take it easy...

Great song though, my sons favorite

  • @GreekMythsAnimated ... anyone is entitled to an opinion on what they like and your language is appalling ... swearing on a page that kids access ... great! (I don't think)

  • turkish lullaby was better

  • I sing this song every night to my daughter... she was born on October, the 4th...

  • "Nani" is not exactly a word in greek. It is a baby word, it's the word babies use for sleep. Mommies say "go for nani" instead of "go for sleep". The translation of Maximianus1977 is close enough!

  • right... in italian it is "nanna"....

  • Anyway, the lyrics sound like this:

"nani nani, kalo' mou moraki / nani nani, kimisu glikaì / i manula ine konta' / se pernei angalia' / filia' na sou dosei / polla', trifera'

  • do u know this song? i really like it and i want to find it

  • translation would be awesome, but it somebody could just name it we could all just do extensive googling

  • I am not greek, but I try:

"sleep, sleep, my beautiful baby / sleep sleep, sleep sweetly / mamy is close to you / she takes you in her arms / she will give you kisses / many kisses, gently

  • Thanks! Gold star for you!!!!

  • nani nani kalo' mou morakiiiii

  • giassou arvaniti! the last true Pelasgians!!!

  • Your mind is stolen from the monkeys!!!!!!

  • Pelasgians are monkeys? what a ridiculous comment

  • where can I buy this video?

  • beautifull lullaby

  • it's great (:

  • perfect!

  • stolen from Pelasgo-Illyrian-Thracian-Dacian-Albanian Oral History and traditions!

  • @balkancoolhead no, not stolen! every civilisation is inspired by the others. i don want to enter in cient politics but even if greece hadnt invade these countries, they would have been inspired by their culture.

  • @clairenunavut ... finally! a greek who makes a fairly reasonable comment... we must clone you ;-)

  • @balkancoolhead thnks :) but unfortunately, i'm french-Canadian. i think i'm reasonable because i am anthropologist :D

  • @clairenunavut ... i knew there was a reason!!! probably there is no neanderthal genes in your family line! :-) the Balkans is filled with Neanderthal blood lines, i'm sure of it... can you launch a study on that please? ha ha... thanks for your comments.

  • @balkancoolhead Whats wrong with you? You should find purpose in life.

  • @gkourli1 ... the quest for truth and honesty is a noble yet daunting profession

  • @balkancoolhead areb you so sure or does matter?

  • @balkancoolhead Talented people "steal". The mediocre immitate.

-Manos Hadjidakis (look him up on Youtube)

    (Although I know I shouldn't reply to balkanhotheads, I just couldn't resist...)

  • ''Look who's talking''

  • @balkancoolhead I have a Greek background, and I partially agree with your comment. However, if youtube is anything to go by, almost every nationality in the Balkans- including Albanians, are a disgrace to themselves, their ancestors, and humanity. I have read countless comments, from every corner of the region, that are truly disgusting, and generally uneducated. I really do hope that at least the majority of people that post this literary garbage haven't reached maturity yet.

  • I wish I could share the pleasure this piece with you but the sound seems to be on strike on this video. Anyone else with the same? (BTW, ALL the other vids play fine.)

  • This is so lovely and my daughter loves it also. I would like to know where to get the lyrics so as I could teach it to my daughter who is half greek.
