  • its 2012, long time 4 a game to live on

  • 1990, is the first time i saw this INCREDIBLE intro with the AMIGA - 500 . It blew me away ! I hope 1 day i could Remake this intro, with some help ....

  • Ι'm so old!!! I played this game.... mates... we are getting old.

  • Matsuba!

  • I WANT A PEANUT COMPUTER!!! (1:20)

  • Fantastic, I remember when seeing this intro and playing this game for the first time that I thought that GFX couldn't get any better!

  • 7 people will stuck in another world... forever..... for our sake.

  • this is a great intro, I really hope they do a remake of this for PS3, 360 or PC with today's graphics. Another World (AKA Out of this World) was one of my fave games of all time

  • Cool :)

  • thebest game eveR!!!!!

  • Since when do professors drive Ferraris?

  • epic game !

  • I was 10 or 11 when I first saw Another World's intro and the game's first few screens on an Atari ST, and I was mightily impressed. So well made eerie atmosphere.

  • *_* amoo ese juegoo

  • Why is it that these old games seem so much more atmospheric than your whizz popping titles of today... was thinking about it the other day, I'm always on the look out for a really atmospheric game but very rarely do I find them... indy titles sometimes... funny, seems like shitty graphics that leave a lot to the imagination actually make for a much more immersive experience than say Crysis 2 which, with all it's splangliness played like a day out at Tesco's. Most titillating.

  • @MangoZapp beacause you was younger ... that thes old games seem so much more atmosperic

  • @Sandokanpsie No, Mangozapp is saying that standing on a point where he has both perspectives on his side, while new generations of kids who didn't experience the first generation of videogames, only have 1 perspective of the deal. They could dig into old 2d games but probably won't find them exiting, because their minds have been overstimulated by superficial 3d garbage, 3d isn't developed enough to immerse players in the game's world as much as old 2d games did.

  • @Symph909 and this article explains why en.wiki pedia.org/wiki/Uncanny_valley

  • @Symph909 remove the space in the url after pasting it in the address bar..

  • @MangoZapp bioshock is pretty atmospheric

  • This is Conan O'Brien during college...

  • The only thing that makes this less enjoyable is the poor audio quality. Improving just the audio would make this epic tenfold.

  • LoooooooooL, a futuristic 3D display running ms-dos

  • Probably the most atmospheric intro for a game ever. I used to boot it up on my Amiga just to watch this intro!

  • I played the crap out of that game in my days. Even today am afraid of those one fang worms.

  • Great game blew everyone's socks off when it was new.

  • @robertleeluben i think i shed a tear at the end

  • I like the low res...better... I love the intro and how it sets up the game...but it is a tad bit slow...

  • 6 people have not driven here with their Ferrari.

  • This game was so far ahead of its time. I'm only 18 and what is this? I got shit like COD and HALO. I need more Another World, ICO, and Shadow of the Colossus!

  • @Nintendoom911 Interestingly, the Creator of ICO got inspired by this Game to make ICO, did you know that?

  • @Blackan No, but thank you for telling me!

  • @Nintendoom911

Try LIMBO, it's like another world, only darker.

  • @goverlingaite Aaaaaand creepier. That spider still give me the creeps...

  • That's why mother always said never use a colider during a thunderstorm.

  • Reminds me of the game Flashback... Played it on emulator not as long or as difficult as in my memories.

  • @310sucks Absolutly!

  • Red head !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • These graphics are so slick, you could use this as the intro to a game released today and no one would notice.

  • A Hall of Fame Game. It was that good.

  • I remember like it was yesterday,! I broke one joystick on it :)

  • OMG ... I found this completely by accident and I remember this intro in so much detail despite the fact that I haven't seen it for YEARS

  • @RickinHK same here!!!

  • Ahhhh, memories.... one of the greatest games of all time...

  • This game was one of the best I had in DOS... Too bad it's so short and easy too. :) It's not too long when I finished it.

  • @Ashlak it wasnt easy back than :) no internet made it harder

  • music/sound effect not balanced. music should be louder.

  • OMG it's Horatio Cane!!!

  • 1.21 GIGAWATTS!

  • still looks stunning, still makes me want to reach for my quickshot pro :D

  • LHC future vision

  • @c4mp3r0r

Hell yeah, i just wanted to write "hey doesn't it look like the LHC?" wtf..?!

  • Fucking energy shields. And mole-guys.

  • to już ja swoim fordem escortem robię lepsze zrywy niż on tym ferrari :)

  • anyone else notice that the code on the keypad sounds like jump by van halen? :P

  • Man I loved this game! Cant believe I just rememberd to Youtube it now and see whats around on it. Sweet!

Are they gonna make a movie of this or what ? :D

  • this is one of my favorite games of all time :B

  • This game was a total bitch to play.

  • lol coppercab

  • Did they change the horrible pink nose? The suspended lift? The floating hand?

    Nope...

Still, the backgrounds do look quite nice. I'll give it that.

  • @SuperNESFreak I know the hand, but pink nose? Suspended lift? Where should I look for those?

  • Is this a recruitment video for CERN? =-p

  • Great game, way ahead of its time. Those FMVs are still awesome:D

I actually have song which is called like that:)

  • @Bragzz Because the original game on the Amiga wasn't high resolution. The PC re-release is. I think the same thing is going to be happening next year with a re-release of Ico and Shadow Of The Colossus on PS3 in high definition.

  • @Guest1001 I don't think that's quite what me meant ;-)

  • @Guest1001

They need flashback in high res too

  • @Bragzz Because your a faggot, thats why

  • @Bragzz Is this nigga serious

  • if only those people in commodore were as good in economics and marketing as they were in making hardware and software. computer science would have been years ahead now. too bad they messed up. the amiga was years ahead and in some areas like multitasking at least a decade ahead

  • pfff another world, they should called the game The Ultimate ginger run away.

  • Mammamaoooo che bello!!!!

  • This is my favorite game of all time. And I have been playing games since Pong and Asteroids first came out. I played it three times in a row (not continuously) the first time I played it. So for me - this is the single best game ever. It beats out Half-Life, which would come in second.

The reason is first of all for its role play with your partner. The second is that the play was challenging yet not annoying like most games have become - just another job (if you ask me).

  • the most amazing thing about this game is,you could still make a high quality short animated movie out of this style, the animations of the lightnings etc. is breathtaking .still couldt believe my eyes,in relation to the time,to me it was the biggest effort in graphics

  • my dad beat this game

  • That's the melody to Funkytown!

  • Thank you so much for this video, i really appreciated the flashback :)

I loved this game on my amiga 1200

  • What the Hell was he working on?

  • @EuphoricFigure i also wonder :)

but i guess this whole incident was an accident :D

  • @EuphoricFigure Maybe a particle thingy to make lasers. Though then the aliens beat him to it...

  • David Caruso

  • Comment removed

  • is that a large hadron collider thats abit before its time

  • Comment removed

  • so if this is another world what is out of this world

  • @babyoilnhand

    There you have it

    Another World/Out of this world

  • The music on the SNES was better and was more in time. Wasnt as high res of course.

  • your 386 25 Mhz computer ? Well the Amiga 500 I used to ran this game had a 7.14 Mhz clock speed

  • the car screeching into scene made me jump big time. headphones and high volume...

  • Nostalgia! :D

I remember i thought it was amazing that my 386 25MHz computer could display this smooth graphic xD.

  • I loved this game.

  • Can i get these games without an emulator? :)

  • @SharrkyX

    gog.com/en/gamecard/another_world_15th_anniversary_edition

  • @SharrkyX

Yes. I used to own it, but my dad hawked most of the SNES games when we got the 64. Such a bitch, I loved this game.

  • Welcome to the Black Mesa Research Facility

  • Still have the cartridge for this game, one of my favourite's. :D

  • so atmospheric for it's time

  • Yeah you can download it :)) Its good :))

  • is it as good as the original version

  • looks bad..

  • Damn! I was 13 when this game came out!

  • Cool indeed.

I remember that this was one hell of an original game, and I can also remember it being cold and frustratingly hard.

  • I wonder, if Lester had switched shield one on, maybe the lightning wouldn't have had the effect it did. Who knows.

  • Yeah and if he had the anti-matter creation was at 91.4% likely too!

This game needs another sequel :D

  • Oh que genial que lo hayan vuelto a hacer, es una de mis series que más me interesaron un poco de interplay.

  • this is the amiga music version... NICE!!!

  • Remember playing it at nights with my dad when I was little. The Amiga 500 times ;) LOVE this game.

  • this game is fantastic, the stuff dreams are made of.

  • Just downloaded the Hi-Res PC Version. Even it owes a lot to "Prince of Persia" and "Dragon's Lair" its still definitely belongs to TOP 5 classics ever.

  • I think I have the original 5 1/4in disks..good times

  • @HouseInVisus I have it on 3.5 inch disks, complete with sticky labels

  • what a game dont like getting old want to be young again

  • tell me about it

  • the games of my youth were sega and playstation

  • me too

  • Here Here

  • @gcravenater I'm just thinkin' the same thing when I watch it

  • I had it on the atari st and it was called peanut computer

  • 1:42 LHC !

  • I love this sequence, it defines so much of a generation of gamers.

Is the music clip available without the SFX somewhere?

  • I loved this game, i remember the intro graphics where like OMFG graphics back in 1991, i loved this game!!

  • this old Game is cool....i miss my amiga....

  • I just read that there was a sequel on the Mega CD called "Heart of the Alien" Anyone played that?

  • As a matter of fact, I have. It wasn't as good though. While the gameplay in Another World could be clunky now and then, Heart Of The Alien took it to a whole new level, with platform sections that were very rigid in what you had to do and when.

I was also disappointed because the alien with red-eyes that seriously injured Lester at the end of the first game was made into a prominent villain. In Another World, I liked the fact that the enemy that injured Lester was just like any other.

  • @Guest1001 Also, the original creator wasn't involved in the sequel at all.

  • @lordsofkoble

    I did. Its awesome

  • @lordsofkoble It was Eric Chahi's wishes that there was to be no sequels to Another World, but they did make Heart of the Alien (Eric Chahi had nothing to do with the sequel) as I said, he wanted it left with just the single game and for the gamers to come to their own conclusions to what happened after the Alien and Lester leave on the big Pterodactyl type monster

  • @Cryten1974

Eric Chahi did make Heart of the Alien, or rather he was told to.

  • @revcom301 Ah ok, from what I read, it was although Eric Chahi washed his hands of the sequel. must admit it never said that but I read between the lines (figurativly speaking) as EC had left the company before the sequel was made. After a bit more searching I tip my cap to you.... I didn't research long enough before commenting

  • @lordsofkoble I have, it's insanely more difficult than the first game - and the alien and the human switch places - where the human is the sidekick. Could have worked, but the ending it too disappointing. It feels like, you lost something.

  • This looks 10X better than the 16 bit versions

  • i seem to rember actually completing this one, anyone rember the flooding caves? bloody hard

  • @DarkShroom Flooding the cave was easy but the run out was tough, I think that you had to pause to do a tricky jump? Can't remember the details but I do remember getting stuck for ages on the exit.

  • ha! I used to have this game on the old Amiga 500!

  • So atmospheric. And you gotta dig Ferraris.

  • I just noticed on the holographic screen he brings up "Peanut Computer. Inc." lol Sounds a bit nuts to me, almost as crazy as Apple Computer Inc. :-P

  • im pretty sure it said amaiga on the orginal, probabally been changed due to copyright

  • Not sure. I had the original PC version and it was Peanut Computer even then. Then again, it might have been changed for all versions after the initial amiga release.

  • It was always Peanut Computer, Inc. I believe on all versions. It was a fictional holodeck after all.

  • This was one of the first games that I thought would've made a great movie, but no doubt if it was made by made by Hollywood they would screw it up so it doesn't resemble the original game. If not a movie, then a TV series would be great. I would watch it!!

I loved this intro and I remember being VERY impressed at the time, I still am now! This gives me goosebumps just watching it, the game was hard in places though and I never finished it. This would be trippy on the Xbox360 as a remake!

  • Thanks, I looked for a youtube video for this a while back and couldn't find it. Games development was truly liberated at that time. It was an emerging, largely uncensored, and highly original time for games but few games were as great an example of this time than Another World. Deserves a big game engine remake!

  • Arguably, the most under-rated game.

  • hehe. i used to have Another World. I suck at it though..

  • I've actually bought it ... the new one ...

  • One of the most beautiful games ever.

  • E-P-I-C! One of the coolest action-adventure games ever! Though it was quite short, it was pretty tough to beat.

  • Truly amazing!! :O

  • coolest game ever....thereis a remake for pcs available in low price.....also the old version included...

  • wait... this game has sequels??? man!!! when i was a kid this game change my point of view of the video games, mmmmm ..... memories.

  • nice to see this again, loved the game too....funny how the experiment looks alot like what CERN is doing right now lol.

  • yea that's pretty weird...but i think CERN has been working on that for years and years now

  • Mana alive, best amiga intro ever. Seriously, seriously good. I loved this game - Mega amounts of atmosphere.

  • fucking LOVE this game! I played the sequel on Sega cd and beat it too!

  • I thought I was the only person who appreciated this game! What a suspenseful, atmospheric, and undeniably "cinematic" experience playing "Another World"/"Out of This World" was!

  • I totally agree! I've played thi game sooooooooooo many times. And the Sequel Heart of the Alien.

  • It's a great game that I could never really get into, though oddly I loved Flashback. I can't get enough of the game, I pop it into my genesis every so often. Truly great games

  • I love Out of this World on SNES!

  • Great Artwork Considering They Made This On An Amiga , I Remeber Using The Cell Polygon in making artwork , those were the days :)

  • the ending has a refrance to half live :)

  • lol

  • this game was hard, reminds me of abes odyssey a lil

  • masterpiece!!! shadow of the colossus and ico are totally inspired by this game

  • I like this game cose it tried to do something differnt.

I'm bored of the same car racing game or shoot em up just being re-released with better graphics. Not saying they're all bad but the ones that do something differnt stand out. People should start treating video games more like movies I think.

  • this is a legendary game

    i like it

  • anyone know where i can get the music from the levels and intro song too? :O!!

    too good....:)

  • get a program called modplug tracker(or tractor) you get get the original mod. files online and change them to mp3

  • one of the best games ever

  • Wow!!! The experiment resembles the CERN project!!! (haydron collider)

  • atom smashing has bgeen around for ages, this was based on the ealier stuff

  • Love this game :) good old times when game meant big pice of playing and story, not a ultra high graph...

  • This is the 3DO version. Looks slick!

  • wrong. read the description.

  • i think the ferrari is a dino.

  • this was my best game of all time, i was sucked into this for ages.

  • frickin awesome!

  • In the second game, this innocent guy dies! how STUPID!!, i would not even consider the second game THE sequel to the first game. I just hope if a second game is remade, that it does not end with the main character dying at the end after we all thought he would survive after all the shit he's been through.

  • i've wrote a post title "Another World, the videogame that saw LHC" :)

  • i did prefer flash back but i did enjoyplaying this game memories

  • Yup, this is the first video I came to see this morning after the CERN reminder. This game is immortal.
