As a child i had been exposed to hip hop through my uncle. When the hype came up i stopped listening because it wasn't real anymore. But when i was 13 I found out about Nujabes and instantly fell in love once more. It's all about tha underground haha.
When I was 10 years old and I heard "Runnin" by The Pharcyde. I really fell in love with Hip-Hop when I was 15 and ever since then I've been doing my own music. Hip-Hop is more than music, it's a movement, it's a culture, it's a story of our lives. Now "hip-Hop" clowns run rampant and hip-hop lost its meaning. Let's take it back to the good days.
Funny that this movie was a call to Hip-Hop about it's lack of originality and lack of love from the fans, music industry, and Hip-Hop artist 10 years ago. It can be played to day and it's message can be current with today situation with Hip-Hop.
This is so deeep! I was listening to an old school hiphop mix on the radio friday night and it brought back so many memories. I use to write rhymes when I was in high school because the music was so inspiring! I am sorry, but I can't say that much of this "rap" out today is inspiring the way "hip hop" was. That music was and still is "real" - no there is a whole lot of fake-ness. It saddens me to think of all the damage "hip hop" has sustained over time.
i fell in love wit hip=hop 2pac round and round like 1991 like 8 so in love and still in love the first to talk to us the first understand(had love for OPP too doe) man pac was like my dad in my mind lol and still is...wen i need tht push and feelin fucked up i push play
I Love Brown Sugar, i stayed up late one night and they had it on TV!! this totally changed my view on Hip Hop forever, "Act Too" is my favourite track on Things Fall Apart by The Roots... But this snippet of the movie is just moving..
@oharmon The Roots have a live album out that several years old. Thats where "Act Two" is from. Go to Amazon and its there. It's a double CD. Great album.
The diffrence between hip hop nd rap? simple , its like saying you love somebody and your in love with somebody rap is just a word!! ahh my favorite son , hip hop is truley my first love
Best question ever!
