Just an Old Rock n Roll song - really! Got to be one of the very best, the most enduring of bands in my playlists and vinyl collection, that I still regularly listen to. The Stones, The Pistols, Led Zep, who ever... are all good but when it comes to live performances the Sound are pure ... well, just beyond words actually - there is a certain magic, to this ensemble of talents that really is beyond description - you almost have to go there!!!?
if not the best song ever, then at least the most beautifully sad collection of words ever set to music Unparallelled. Except maybe by Prove Me Wrong. Or Love Is Not A Ghost. Or Everything's Old by The Isle of Me. For those who are still looking for ways to own their own copies of Sound-albums, try the Renascent-label. Those guys re-issued all Sound-albums digitally remastered, with bonus tracks and liner notes by Adrian himself, occassionally. Maybe they're still in business.
was this ripped from vinyl? you don't happen to have the full album ripped from vinyl in mp3 do you? I'd love to have it. i have 'all fall down' ripped from vinyl and it sounds better than the cd version.
Nobody can touch this band. They are so ahead of everyone else that they seem to be last. Adrian Borland was God posing as the coolest rock star. Thanks for this post.
It's a shame that most of The Sound's stuff is out of print and not re-issued... I can't afford $100 for a CD though i used to have most of the LPs...
best ever
