I have a Blue Ray and HD DVD player, and honestly I like the HD DVD better. I have done several side by side comparisons and HD DVD looks slightly better in some scenes. Don't get me wrong, they are both wonderful looking, but due to HD DVD's cheaper production costs, players being cheaper than Blu-Ray, the porn industry choosing HD DVD over Blu-Ray, and Paramount and Dreamworks leaving Blu-Ray, I think HD DVD has the upper advantage. Don't forget the double sided discs.

The biggest box-office winners of this year went in this order: Sony, Disney, then Fox. All blu-ray exclusive.

Well I have a feeling some of those companies are gonna pull a paramount decision. Blu ray is losing all its hype its lost its exclusive deal with the biggest home entertainment shop in Australia yesterday.

Blu-ray is maintaining a 60/40 split with HD-DVD outselling it regularly 2 to 1.

Blu-ray is trumping HD-DVD software wise, and that's all movie studios care about: sales.

It must be said that the 2:1 Blu-Ray software lead has ONLY been maintained at times this year because of frequent software sales. The fact that a format that has an install base of 2.7 million players can only beat one with 750,000 by 2:1 (with said sales) is poor. Maybe the industry should have gotten fully behind HD-DVD instead and avoided the war. Now I just hope that both can hang around so that dual format players get cheap enough to make the format war fade away.

That decision by JB Hifi made me jump for joy, now I can choose between EzyDVD and JB. Everytime I went into JB the staff would tell me how dismal the Bluray was doing sales wise, and how many people were asking when they were gonna start selling HD DVD. This is a win for HD DVD, in Australia atleast.

they gonna start selling HD DVD player and HD movies month of november..i just called JB-hifi 2day. i have ps3 with built in blu ray player and i'm gonna get HD player aswell. i saw d HD movie quality when i was in america a month ago and d differences between Blu Ray and HD is: HD DVD is more sharper clearer and better movie colour and sound than blu ray...but i wanna keep them both.

Also it looks from industry rumours that Warner Bros, (currently neutral) is going to go Blu-ray exclusive very soon.

That will really be the nail in HD-DVD's coffin.
