keep up the good work and explore in different ways.Paul Mac Cartney used to say to John that he had good but rather depressing songs (i didnt say yours were man^^ :) ) But then imagine a good song such as this one with more joy or determination. I think about the song "help" by john lennon which he turned into a terrfific hit while it was supposed to be the acme of darkness made into song. You gotta work on how you're going to introduce your ideas to people so they listen to you...

Next thing is syncopation. Listen to how perfect of music it is that you make when you sing, "some how i still seem to find you" then you have that wonderful bit of guitar melody and rhythm. Vocals start at 0:26 and guitar rhythm starts at around 0:29 kind of laying on top of the word "still". Then it takes over the phrase and does this really cool rhythmic, melodic syncopation. "Call and response" If you can get all of your songs throughout to have this level of quality, you'll a very rich man.

You are working against yourself. Create interest in your music. I love gloom music, but even gloom music should be interesting. Next time you write try not making "a single move" without listening to what you are doing and asking yourself, "will this keep my listeners interested". Try using some sus 4 chords. Utube: QUEEN "ITS LATE" FROM QUEEN ROCKS VIDEO (STEREO). Its "gloomy and with mood" interesting at same time. Minor keys make gloom. Not bad chord progressions. Utube: No Quarter, Led Zep.

Your 4th chord is wrong, maybe even your second chord, depending? Think about it. Your 4th chord drags me way down. Now why would you want to do this considering we are 10 seconds into the song? Its way to drastic of a change. I mean you get a little thing going and next thing you know, that chord is forcing my ear to leave the song. Then you repeat that chord pattern and I think wow, why? I have just finished eating, I'm not hungry again? See? what Im getting at? Rewrite, rewrite, and rewrite.

Thinking in terms of human conversation using melody instead of words: I say hello, how are you. U say Im fine, how are you. This would be 2 musical phrases that work together made from 4 pieces. There are any number of possibilities. Point is, it all has to make sense. Do a utube for: Ground Control to Major Tom. Notice how is chords and melody and words and everything works to make a conversation. Your getting better, and are very close. Need to re write even if it means removing a chord.

You learn quickly. I hear Paul Young influences, but that's only the better. Almolst every hit is influenced by existing songs. Go to the chamber of commerce and start your own record company. Put your song on cd, 2 songs, and offer it to radiostatios or mail this 1 song, to several record companys. Don't be down if they refuse you. I know it's good. You always got then your own label and can offer it to radostations.

Check your beats per minute for the songs you write. Usually, the best BPM is where it is comfortable to for human instinct to count with the snare on the two beat and the four beat, or the three beat every other measure. If I count this song with snare on the two beat, its to slow, if I count it on the three beat, its a bit to fast. Thing is, there should be two ways to "feel" the beat. This is part of what makes a grove. The interaction between the two conflicting meters. Great job though. :)
