yu-gi-oh: yugi looked EPIC yu-gi-oh GX: jaden kinda looked ok not as good as yugi yu-gi-oh 5D's: yusei looks just as or more epic then yugi. yu-gi-oh zexal WTF O_O
Alright original Yugioh was great, GX was alright, 5Ds was awesome, had alot of dark moods, but Zexal looks soo amateurish.. honestly I gave the show a couple of chances by watching the first 20 episodes, and so far I feel like its a disapointment

Two things why in the hell did Yusei summon Junk Warrior to fight Red Dragon Archfiend if I had to choose a Junk monster to battle that thing I would have chosen Junk Archer and I agree with darksilver892 people that give up on Zexal before those episodes are missing out on some pretty intense stuff.

@joeysucks102 Actually Yusei did have Stardust in fact Jack (or what ever his original name is) gave it to him a few episodes after he got out of the satelite and they were fighting in that arena place.The only time they dueled at that arena was during the fortune cup ark which was also the only time they dueled against each other during season one.So in fact he did have Stardust.Anyway thanks for your agreement with me usually when I speak well of Zexal people treat me like an Idiot.

Yeah, I thought this was going to be preposterous at first too, but now I love the hell out of it. The movie with all three protagonists was awesome too.
Now Zexal, I decided to give it a ten episode trial period. I've watched the ten episodes and I'm sorry but I'm severely disappointed. The new Xyz monsters in the show and in real life don't appeal to me and Yuma just can't stop pissing me off. And there doesn't appear to be any connection to the past shows, so I quit watching it.
@6thhokagephil yeah but there's one major difference. 5D's presented an awesome 1st episode and kept getting awesome with plot and card strategies. Zexal's smacked me right in the face from the get go and I tried to give it time to redeem itself, but it never did for me. :(

@qix03 Kazuki Takahashi didn't have anything to do with GX or 5D's. If anything, he just supervised, I think. I have the GX and saw the 5D's one, and neither were written nor drawn by him. Just the first four Yu-Gi-Oh! series were (YGO, YGO Duelist, YGO Millenium World, and YGO R).

Personally, I like all series, so I don't like people argueing about which is better b/c the point of the series is not specific cards, rules, or type of game, it's that even though time moves on, the characters are still encountering similar problems. I know people think a duel academy or duel on motorcycles are too deviated from the original, but the fact it, a whole generation is between the original and GX and many more for 5D's. If the technology doesn't improve, that really WOULD be weird.
@Noryle Yeah. And plus, it seems the main character is older than the main character of the previous series. Yugi was in high school, Jaden seems a bit older, and Yusei is out of school and possibly 20

@Noryle I don't mind the technology moving along but the introduction of motorcycles is a pointless and arbitrary element and alienates many of its target audiance. Not only is there no point to them being on a motorcycle to play a card game its not even feasible when you look at it logically, so it also breaks the suspension of disbelief of a lot of its audiance. but whatever floats ya'lls boat I just wish the rush to get this series out didn't make the last season of GX not get dubbed
@ShaunCarlin I think I should also add that if several decades (centuries?) pass and the game is still the same, people also get bored. And besides, there's is no feasibility or much logic to begin with. Suspension of disbelief was broke in the first episode of the original series when Kaiba kidnapped (and somehow hurt) an elderly for a card. Still, I agree about the GX part, 'cause 4th season was one of my personal favorites.
@Noryle I agree about new technology and I like the new cards. But the whole idea is fucked up. A story would be great without race part. I mean this is like a newest Need For speed game transferred to chess game. It has the same name but it is not the same. racing has nothing to do with card game :)
In 5D's however, you cannot find a connection with the past Duel Monsters and GX, except Domino City (which is now Satellite), KaibaCorp, and the old Battle City duel disk which Yusei modified to use. Heck, they even changed the rules. The only connection that 5D's made with DM and GX is the Movie: "Bonds Beyond Time". I also like Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, it is very original and a fresh take of the franchise with the introduction of new dueling systems, but it won't work for the Yu-Gi-Oh! purists.
The Reason why Many like Yu-Gi-Oh! GX more than Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's is becuase:
Even with a "Duel Academy" setting, GX still show ties with the original series that we knew and loved. Yugi gave Jaden Winged Kuriboh, Kaiba owns and operates Duel Academy, Pegasus still owns Industrial Illusions, the Dorms are named after the Egyptian Gods, (Curse the Rip-off Sacred Beasts), Yugi dueled Jaden in the last episode, and the Final Monster that Jaden, a Slifer Red, faced, is Slifer the Sky Dragon himself.

This reminds me of the old days when Yugioh 5ds was going to start. LOL, I remember how much people think of how dumb the idea was to duel on motorcycles. Till now!! Now everybody loves it!!!!!!!!

Personally, I like all series, so I don't like people argueing about which is better b/c the point of the series is not specific cards, rules, or type of game, it's that even though time moves on, the characters are still encountering similar problems. I know people think a duel academy or duel on motorcycles are too deviated from the original, but the fact it, a whole generation is between the original and GX and many more for 5D's. If the technology doesn't improve, that really WOULD be weird.

@Noryle Yeah. And plus, it seems the main character is older than the main character of the previous series. Yugi was in high school, Jaden seems a bit older, and Yusei is out of school and possibly 20

@VerbrannteSchatten Yugi was 15 when Dm started, Jaden was also 15 when Gx started, And Yusei was 18 when 5D's started :) He's older cuz 5D's was for the older audience, plus he's the most badass of them all

@Noryle I don't mind the technology moving along but the introduction of motorcycles is a pointless and arbitrary element and alienates many of its target audiance. Not only is there no point to them being on a motorcycle to play a card game its not even feasible when you look at it logically, so it also breaks the suspension of disbelief of a lot of its audiance. but whatever floats ya'lls boat I just wish the rush to get this series out didn't make the last season of GX not get dubbed

@ShaunCarlin I think I should also add that if several decades (centuries?) pass and the game is still the same, people also get bored. And besides, there's is no feasibility or much logic to begin with. Suspension of disbelief was broke in the first episode of the original series when Kaiba kidnapped (and somehow hurt) an elderly for a card. Still, I agree about the GX part, 'cause 4th season was one of my personal favorites.

@Noryle I agree about new technology and I like the new cards. But the whole idea is fucked up. A story would be great without race part. I mean this is like a newest Need For speed game transferred to chess game. It has the same name but it is not the same. racing has nothing to do with card game :)

5D's comes entirely developed and badass.

In 5D's however, you cannot find a connection with the past Duel Monsters and GX, except Domino City (which is now Satellite), KaibaCorp, and the old Battle City duel disk which Yusei modified to use. Heck, they even changed the rules. The only connection that 5D's made with DM and GX is the Movie: "Bonds Beyond Time". I also like Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, it is very original and a fresh take of the franchise with the introduction of new dueling systems, but it won't work for the Yu-Gi-Oh! purists.

The Reason why Many like Yu-Gi-Oh! GX more than Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's is becuase:
Even with a "Duel Academy" setting, GX still show ties with the original series that we knew and loved. Yugi gave Jaden Winged Kuriboh, Kaiba owns and operates Duel Academy, Pegasus still owns Industrial Illusions, the Dorms are named after the Egyptian Gods, (Curse the Rip-off Sacred Beasts), Yugi dueled Jaden in the last episode, and the Final Monster that Jaden, a Slifer Red, faced, is Slifer the Sky Dragon himself.

@howlingrain man does kazuki takahashi even have anything to do with yu-gi-oh anymore? I remember in GX he designed most of the main characters, did he do the same for 5Ds or is it just somebody mirroring his style?
