It is so hard to say who made the best Heathcliff, each actor who has portrayed him brought him to life in their own way. Heathcliff, afterall, will always be may favorite character in any novel with his beautiful, passionate, dark self. I loved charlotte riley as cathy in this production. Her character was a little too sympathetic in places but I think this was more due to the writing than her flawless performance. Her yorkshire accent made a welcome change from all those Rada trained actresses and the infamous french one in the otherwise good 90s film (ralph Fiennes is my favourite Heathcliff) I'm unsure about the new film - I would have liked david Leon or Henry Cavill and Natalie Dormer or Tamzin merchant starring in it

Because of this adaptation I read the novel which I found very flat and annoying!!! This movie is the best! Both actors are perfect! ! They gave me chills! I couldn't stop crying! The director is a genious for creating this masterpiece and the best of all is that he gathered the best lines of the novel and put them between Heathcliff and Cathrene and made them lovers! The book is a mess! This adaptation is the real thing! This is wuthering heights! By the way your vid is perfect!!!!

I saw the 1992 version recently and it seem to me that is a bit artificial and unfinished, the characters are a bit forced and they don't transmit to the public that feeling of tenderness and full love, wild, fresh, and natural, like the 2009 actors. The effects also are a bit forced to...I saw many other movies, oldies, with better effects...I don's know...My favorite remains the 2009, I love that feeling between them...it is so real, so strong...I love it! It is my FAVORITE MOVIE! EVER!

Tom Hardy was the perfect Heathcliff. At times he give me chills from his bitterness and hostility...and other times I got chills from his tragedy and despair. My heart broke for him!!!! Cathy was a bit too innocent...but she was good and very beautiful, nonetheless.

I never really knew the story of Wuthering Heights before this was on tv so i read a brief synopsis of the novel but the show was amazing. Its a really odd relationship lol i loved it when Heathcliff and Cathy were together and hated it when they were apart but then i hated Heathcliff when he goes off with Isabella and i hated Cathy when she was being a spoiled "child" when havin an argument with Isabella. lol I love the video and the song :)))

I have been waiting since April for PBS Masterpiece to re-run this, just as they have some other recent programs. Now I here the British version has an extra 1/2 hr. We been robbed in the US, and demand our 1/2 hr.!! Loved it, can't get it out of my head. This song goes along with the haunting theme of the program....Thanks:) Also, Hareton actor has a lot of Tom type qualities looks/actions if ya know what I mean:)

The BBC usually excell at this kind of drama. But ITV can do a pretty good job too when it puts it`s mind and money to it. Watching "The Take" at the moment- brilliant performances by Tom Hardy and Catherine Riley. However, to see Hardy's best performance yet I would have to recommend "Stuart- A life backwards"

It has to be one of the greatest pieces of Acting in television in this decade. As a drama, its up there with Boys from the Blackstuff and Cathy come Home.Hear he's in talks to do some cage fighting film in the states. I sincerely hope that he's not turned into some action film star. He's too good for that.

Sometimes you watch a movie and think,this seems like a real life now moment the actor was so natural. It was like they were the person(character). That was how I felt about Tom Hardy after I saw this film.I have seen a few of his films but this one just confirms the fact that he is one of the better performers out there.He indeed is most comfortable in front of the camera.

This version of WH with Tom Hardy was posted on youtube. I saw it here in April, I think. However, it was removed later, after the USA DVD release. I think it only available in region 1 DVD, which is a shame.
