  • This video perfectly captures the essence of this extraordinary song. I saw Jane on 5/14 in Toronto and she played this first. Now only if many of the "artists" making major bank (listening, Beyonce?) now could have this much care and conviction to their music they may actually be listenable. I'd rather listen to Jane any time.

  • This is a great, incredibly arty video. But something is wrong with the lyrics. Jane Siberry doesn't display enough distance towards the man she's talking to. We feel her resentment, her contempt towards him. If he's such a turd, why bother making a big scene of his loss? The proper attitude would rather be stone-cold depiction and analysis, a bit like Sarah McLachlan does, with similar subject-matter, in "Vox" or "Building a Mystery". But, heck, this is still an AWESOME video

  • I don't know why, but the way Jane Siberry looks in this Music Video with a very short manly haircut and Outfit really minded Me of two People....My sexy Ex-Boyfriend from High School and Actor Sean Penn...Nevertheless, this is a really great Song by Jane Siberry and it's very Emotive, Evocative, and Ethereal :)

  • jane is nice to listen to because she sings from her connetion to earth, animals and people. that's her only trick. mostly, singers hide that connection in the name of authenticity. and they're proved wrong, obviously.

  • Awesome tune. I came for the references to Welsh geography in the lyrics, but I'm staying for the voice and the melodies. Lush :D

  • What beauty.

  • Ok, this song just took my breath away.

  • Brillant song from Jane---says it all thanks Jane again.

  • Thanks for this, PaceP! Siberry/Issa is a brilliant, underrated and UNIQUE talent: poet, lyricist, solo composer, arranger, performance artist, costume/set designer and self-harmonizing vocalist!!! : ) In some similar ways her lyric writing talents remind Me of Kate Bush, Sandy Denny, Phil Lynott, Stevie Nicks, Greg Dulli, Steven Morrissey, Stuart Adamson, Paul Weller and Bjork. I'm very glad for her that motion picture and television music supervisors have used much of her work! : )

  • Oh my god; I just love her. One of my favorite of her songs; have never seen the video. I'm seeing her tonight perform in a "salon"! So excited.

  • I feel so joyful and powerful when I listen to her music. Gonna dig out my CDs when I get to the new home.

  • I've appreciated Jane's art for over 20 years, and still can't get over her talent!

    She is a Goddess!

  • She is brilliant and one of a kind! Thanks!

  • She is a Goddess.

  • She is unreal.

  • Hey guys- I edit textbooks, and "underappreciated" is definitely a word. It also applies to my salary...

    Jane is wonderful!

  • Well, that shows me that you're sensitive.

  • Jane is hugely underappreciated. My spell check tells me that 'underappreciated' is not a word...but I know that it is.

Thank you for this video, I love Jane Siberry.

  • I agree with you, and I think your militant stalwart use of the word underappreciated is commendable. Damn you to hell, Spellcheck! I say you forego it for Audio Preview.

  • THis is a debate I can approve of!!!

  • we need so little,,,just the things to live..and loving friends to walk with us.......

  • Such beautiful & talented hands!!!!!!!!

  • AMAZING!!!

  • this reminds me of a very good friend, who I have just reconnected with after 15 years. She loved Jane Siberry, and this song just breaks my heart, and makes me think of my friend. Lovely.

  • What a magical wonderful song and performance, She is very special soooooooo underated and neglected.

  • God, what a song. Beautiful.

  • Wow long time no see. I was telling my kids about Jane Siberry and her awesome voice. Now she is on youtube I can show them. I met her once in North Bay I sold merch for her. Great lady.

  • is she from the bay area? like SF bay area?

  • Toronto Ontario Canada

  • There is something completely magical about Jane (Issa). Such simplicity - but it's utterly sublime.

  • @tadpole3535 Well said!

  • wow. truth.

  • This is also one of my fave songs by her. Thanks for posting it. I didn't know I'd find anything of her on youtube. Her songs are beautiful. I've seen her live about 5-6 times. I even bought a set of glasses from her.hehe.

  • Jane is simply brilliant... a brilliant vocalist, performer, writer, interpeter and musician. Such integrity in her writing and music... I have been following her career since 1984, and have seen her live four times now :) I have the utmost respect for her.

  • Jane is better now,at least live , than ever before!!!

  • me hace viajar jane siberry!...me encanta su voz y sus composiciones!

  • I miss this so much. She's not like this anymore; I wish she were.

  • yeah, i agree, but none of us are the same as we were 20 years ago. you should listen to the "tootie" collection though, i think it really comes close.

  • One of my favorite songs from Jane and an approprate video. The black and white, snowy landscape adds to this eerie essence of the song. Saw her in a New York a few years back and put on an interesting Christian themed show. I respect her choices and I still think she is one of Canada's great artists.

  • Thank you for posting this, this was wonderful to watch. This video is everything that Jane/ Issa does that I love best, I LOVE the wit that made Jane lipsync the only bit she couldn't possibly do. True Wit, True genius.

  • Thank you SO much!

  • thank you for posting this. excellent quality even at full size!
