I'm thinking of mounting a tiny (matchbox sized) wireless camera from the friendly chinese ebay sellers to one of them.. that's gonna be interesting :D!
2:10 "hey this is an expensive precision inst..." LOL LOL LOL! you were too kind there, my reply would have been shorter and laced with profanity. Funny family stuff, my Christmas was rather dull but I'm enjoying watching yours.
I got almost the same exact thing for Christmas, IR controls and all, and it is supprisingly weak....if I charge the battery for 5 hours, it might have enough power to get off the ground more than an inch for about a minute...
@blazerlover25 Oh, I was probably incredibly naughty. The furnace fan remote control video probably did me in.
Actually...I did get one, although I didn't know it at the time. I'm pretty bad at flying it, so I've left it in the hands of furhead and the Keykeeper. They're a lot better at it, and the thing doesn't hold my interest too much, so...
@flipflop595 In what was probably a very wise move, the cat "booked it" out of there at the first sign of helicopter approach. We did have a good Christmas holiday here. I hope you did as well!
Their IR control mechanism seems astoundingly robust. I'm not sure the Handycam's own illuminator would be enough, but I'll try it. If not, I still have the big one salvaged from the security camera.
My brother in law got one like Keykeeper's, but it won't fly straight. Every time he tries to lift it off it tilts sideways and crashes. The batteries went dead before he figured out how to get it aligned. I hope he figures it out but I'm not sure he's going to, he may end up returning it.
Who are those copters made by and what's the name of the product? What's a reputable brand of remote controlled helicopter of that size and calibre? They look like so much fun to play with, I'd love to have something like that, I've not really played with RC helicopters before. I'm sure ThinkGeek were at one stage selling something like those. One of them hit something and it went 'ting' what was that? What's so entertaining about a barcode scanning wand? They sound like Dentistry Drills.
Those helicopters obviously had mechanical problems, i.e. loose nuts on the controls. Better sleep with your bedroom door closed and locked tonight, they might launch some night missions.
I got a remote control helicopter, but mine is bigger! and is half a meter long and it's so big I can't fly it in my house! but when I rev it a bit it sounds like a vacuum cleaner it's so loud! maybe tomorrow if I get my camera charged I'll post a video response!
that rc chopper dont work get a rc s107 chopper they work better

It's amazing what fun you can have with a toy helicopter and the fragile objects around it. :P
My dad was playing with one and managed to mow an arrangement of flowers on the kitchen table. XD

You can attach letters to these helicopters and deliver mail.

Next time turn on Nightshot and see if the Handycam's IR illuminator causes the helicopter to crash when it gets too close!

What type of batteries does the actual helicopter itself take?
mdog1678 2 months ago
@mdog1678 It's supposed to have an internal Lithium-Ion battery. It is charged through the remote controller.

@Lachlant1984 I don't know who made these. I will try to find the name of the product.
The "ting" was a plate mounted to the wall. (Don't tell our mother!)
Barcode scanning wand? watch?v=w-HoJVmQ1-E has the story.
There wasn't a single bar coded item in the house that was safe.

You should see the "Flying F***" RC chopper my brother got me from Spencer's Gifts. It's quite literally a block-letter F-word w/ rotors.

one tip on those various micro helicopters
they work much better if you hold them up and let go as you power up the motor rather than starting them in the floor.

@MAG315 I am pleased to report that no night missions were attempted. I always sleep with my door closed.
They did, however, eventually find the cat. She wisely "booked it" upon first sight of the 'copters.
