from the tiny bits of the story I've seen, the voice acting looks amazing for this game's story mode. MK9 apparently has the deepest story of any fighting game, looking forward to it.

@ClanTeamLegend Yes that happens at the MK1 tournament part of the story mode, which smoke was at(ret cannoned as such in MK2). Don't remember him(Smoke) being mentioned in the story mode MK1 parts in the demo leak as I remember it said it was Bi Han/MK1 Sub-zero, Human Cyrax and Sektor where the Lin Qui there, Smoke (if memory served) didn't show up till the outworld tournament with the younger Sub-zero. I could be wrong as it was a long time ago when I read that, so don't hold me to that.

@VexDoppel Maybe, but also Scorpion was originally at the MK1 tournament in a Lin Kuei outfit and so far we seen three in the scenes from the Story scenes shown in this and Raiden's gameplay trailer, there two by Sonya and one can be seen briefly over by Raiden and Liu Kang (about 20 seconds in Raiden's gameplay vid) It could possibly be Scorpion, Smoke, and Bi Han and they just used generic grey colors in the versions of the scenes they use and they will be colored in the game. Just a thought.

@Evilmonkey66699 Scorpion was not in a Lin Kuei outfit. Scorpion wore his Shirai-ryu outfit. Scorpion 's clan was formed by Takeda a former Lin Kuei member and chose Yellow to signify a rivalry between the two clans [and possibly mock them as well]

In this new continuity the Lin Kuei are hired to eliminate any possible threats to Shang tsung [in contrast to the org MK1 where Bi-Han was hired to kill Shang Tsung]

@Evilmonkey66699 Smoke wasn't mentioned during the MK1 portion of the leaks but that could still be him. I mean they managed to shoe horn in Cyrax and Sektor pre-automation into the MK1 story [along with Nightwolf , Baraka and Quan Chi] I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Smoke MK1 Klassic skin via DLC eventually.
