  • I work for a gas service contractor.... despite all of the high-tech locating equipment we have, we still use rods to find buried trenches when all else fails. I have never missed a gas main using rods. Debunk that

  • you can clearly see his knuckles on the rod, he's moving them himself

  • This dude is a complete idiot. People like this should just be shot in the head for being a waste of air on this earth. Can't stand retarded people like this guy.

  • Kids are so self-assured of their intelligence these days...it's silly. LOL

  • maybe there was a spirit...too bad it wasn't evil, would have made the video more interesting

  • LOL the long rods!

Well at least the spirits got it right on one thing, one ghost present!

  • Ah! the sweet certainty of youth - bless! All you've proved there sonny jim is that you can't dowse.

You've debunked this with all the rigour of a schizophrenic cockerel, on acid, with a migraine, in the glare of a cars headlights, after a night out on the absynth, whilst concentrating on something else!

P.S. Next time you debunk something - do it properly - no dowsers believe they are asking ghosts - that's just plain naive.

P.P.S. Why such long rods? - trying to compensate for something

  • he's moving the rods himself with thumbs . thinks he's being funny .

  • dowser's don't claim that the rods work by themselves. It is the interaction between a water source, the rods, and an intelligent receiver. Now, if you replace the intelligent receiver with a moron, as we have just seen, nothing happens. In fact, in this case the result is often that what little intelligence the moron had initially is then lost though the dowsing rods and back into the ground. Notice how our subject is actually dumber at the end of the video than when he started.

  • personally, I don't believe rods are anywhere near as accurate/effective as an actual dowsing rod. Knew a guy once that did it for a living (well drillers, construction companies, etc.).

The critics say that the user is merely twisting the stick in his hands, yet I've seen this guy first hand have the bark twist off in his hands, or the end bend into a "U" after walking over a strong water source. Science can't explain it, and I won't pretend to understand it either, but it works.

  • those rods are a lot longer then mine,my rods are on bearings,i have no controll where they go

  • i use these to locate oil and gas pipelines when my magnetometer doesnt work. i have always been able to hit the pipe with a probe and ive been doing this for 10yrs now. i dont pretend to know how they work, just that they do. as for ghosts and things of that nature, i really dont have an opinion.

  • 'A bunch of crap.'

  • I work at a water department where we use these rods to find where a ditch was cut through an area to install a water main or a sewer. Most of the time it works, possibly because the rods detect a disturbance in the magnetic field of the land.

  • my papaw was a heavy equipment operator and he used dowsing rods for more than 40 years to locate underground water lines and sewage lines and even electric lines and even underground and it works trust me Ive seen it and used it myself to find underground water lines and such it works! now idk about ghosts or anything like that but for water and stuff it works

  • Skeptics can even be wrong sometimes.

  • @shred3303 What? No, that can't be true, skeptics are never wrong! Nothing ever happens unless everyone on the planet knows about it. Dinosaurs never walked!!!! Prove that they walcked then. All you have are bones, bones don't walk. Show me a dinosaur walking. Exactly, you can't, so they never walked. That's probably why they all died.

  • I cannot tell you why i can do this but I can only do it with metal rods and only for water and metals and not very deep. I was part of a remote viewing program for the DOD and was a total failure at it. This seems to be some sort of electromagnetic issue but I have never tried to figure it out. I am an engineer so it intrigues me but i cant explain.

  • you're a wizard.

  • well it looks like others have said this too but have you tried your theories with the pocket sized rods?

I am not defending or denying dowing, I have never done it I am just thinking about getting a pair, just curious.

    Either way I enjoyed this.

  • dude you're so lost.......

  • Agreed,

smaller rods, I've never used rods of that size. I use shorter pieces of salvaged copper wire to find buried utility service on several DIY plumbing projects. I have even found buried electrical conduit that had nothing on either end coming out of the ground, long forgotten by the property owner and previously unknown to me. Just because we don't understand it, doesn't mean it's bunk/true. I can imagine those that tried to debunk that the earth is round when it was first suggested.

  • The problem with debunk series of videos is that they come in with the idea that it doesn't work. In scientific community, if you wish to prove your thesis, you should look for all the reasons why your thesis is wrong... NOT all the reasons why it's right.

He simply demonstrated that he can manipulate the rods and used a video from an old debunk show as evidence.

I don't condone dowsing, just sad to see such poorly done "debunk" videos.

  • Jeremy Finkle debunked. The use of the large rods allows him to manipulate the movements for his comical antics. The point using a 6" or slightly larger rod is to have the least amount of muscular manipulation possible. These rods will amplify every step taken, as you can see at about 3:30 minutes of this bunk video, his wrists turn and then the rods turn.

  • About trying smaller rods and yours being huge, the longer the rod, the more stress on the hands and muscules there. Smaller rods would mean less stress, though I get completely eliminating hand/muscle movement is difficult. Still, it'd be more thorough than using some of the longest rods I've ever seen.

  • I get exactly what you're saying and know there are plenty of bullshitters out there but for scientific study, have you tried smaller rods (those things are huge) and have you tried to NOT manipulate the rods. Or set the rods up so no one touches them to see if they'll move? Thanks for the info on James Randi. Gonna look him up.

  • Dowsing is total bunk!

    Great video.

  • Dude that is a funny video!!! LMFAO! Do you still have those dowsing rods? I want to get some to mess around with. If you dont want them I will take them. Great job dude!
