  • As far as I've known, kava kava leaves and stems can cause liver toxicity so be careful with it.

You can google for it, in wiki, etc tons of articles.

This is one of the herbs that initially were supposed to be safe but later discovered about their toxicity and such.

  • @adorianvlad Kava is a totally different thing. This clip is about the kawakawa leaves from a kawakawa tree. NZ is the only place in the world this tree grows.

  • Interesting. Is it used for anything specific?

  • can u smoke kawakawa lol?

  • Funny :D In Polish 'kawa' means 'coffee', so I've read 'CoffeeCoffee Tea' :D

  • Is it safe (nontoxic)? Never heard of Kawakawa before.

  • Kawakawa is awesome.. has very very strong healing properties as well. When I have a headache or feel under the weather or if I have an injury I make a tea and it definitely helps... also if you have swelling or an open cut/gash of some kind you rub the leaves, slap them on and they help you heal fast (alot faster then a bloody plaster thats for sure)

  • First time I saw that plant, u know we have a plant here in Latin America that is a tree for flowers and u can make it tea, strangely, this is a plant that is more for decorating gardens, but is quite interesting. Is called Bougainvillea, the purple ones u can use them for tea, the others...well...no idea.
