We drove up the hill in March of 1999. Just missed the 200 year anniversary. Standing on Vinegar Hill was truly one of the most moving moments of my life. I kissed the windmill for my grandfather who was born in the US and my uncle Jim, neither of whom made it to our ancestral home of County Wexford.
