I've no doubt that the instrumental interlude (not found in the studio version) was added by Waters – it's the precursor to The Wall's "In The Flesh"… same cord progression. Roger Waters is the king of recycling old musical ideas!
I was just listening to the original and thought "this song needs to be much longer, surprised they didn't make it an epic", and then saw this! Thanks, and Merry Xmas.
I have a recording of Childhoods end from Cincinatti 1973.
That's one of the best live performances I've ever heard... This song is great. Incidently, first time I heard this I was just reading Childhood's end from A.C.Clarke :)
Mr. pinkpigsheep1977, i AM AUFLY glad you posted a whole bunch of old stuff, its definatly rare to me. so thanks..but you know what i really like is, all diferent versions of PIGS THREE different Ones!!! fix it up and post 3 different ones im sick of this charrade ive been riding. i live in america.
"different" time. i remember, before the show even started, some chick was walking around the main floor seats with a handful of powdered synthetic mesc asking people if they wanted "a lick". she looked as if she had already had several "licks". i do miss the 70's.
@nitrohuffer1320 I was lucky enough to be in the eight row for this gig. Just a shade younger than you as my 15 birthday was two months away. A group of four of us came in from Glen Ellyn. We have some cool shots from our seats. In retrospect the stage show was spare, but the music was unbelievable.
