if they bring this to America, i'll go on my KNEES and beg them to take out the stupid gargoyles and keep the dark aroma from the book. If anything, I hope they don't base it off Disney's version!
@XxM00nSHADExX uhhh...this IS Disney's version, albeit considerably darker. I just hope they keep Esmerelda's death which they reinstated when they did the German Adaptation. The writer who adapted the script did want to get rid of the gargoyles, but Disney wouldn't let him (although they let him kill Esmerelda :S). Instead he made them figments of Quasi imagination and manifestations of his personality. He also gave them a better song to sing than "A Guy Like You" ...thank God...
Hmm... A theatrical adaption of Hunchback of Notre Dame that has everything I loved about the Disney version while being faithful to the book, soon to be coming to the US.
A few years ago, ABC "Wonderful World of Disney" Was planning a musical movie of "Hunchback" based on this stage show.
They've dropped it, and are now planning "Peter Pan" For late 2007. I think I'd rather see this made into the movie. i've always wondered what it would be like if they turned a Disney animated movie into a live action one.
i love this esmerelda!

I'll be crushed if they decide to cancel the American adaption again.
And though I love the Disney film, I'll also be slightly crushed if they don't keep this ending (though they probably won't anyway... *sigh*)

Wow. The set changes are breathtaking.
I love the bootlegs of this...I really hope they don't change anything when it comes to the US.

There have news or rumours saying that the lyricist said that it's coming next year to the US. Go and check it out in Wikipedia.
