Saqs i'm also a very good rose player when I started you encouraged me now I think it's time I do the same... Balrog is not bad what I do is slide every dashing punch except ex ones.. and when I have an ultra he doesn't dare dash because I am quick enough to pull it in their faces... also I keep seeing you do a drill after a antiair c.hp which isn't safe best thing to do is dash back and give yourself some room... last thing the lp lp lk mp drill doesn't work UNLESS the drill is Ex due to frames

Yes he is one of her worst matchups. I would say the worst. Although Saqs is much better than me, I have beaten him Rose v. Rose before, and I can tell you Balrog is a terrible matchup for her. Way Worse than Sagat, who I think is easy. Idk what kind of shitkicker Balrogs u play, but most Rose mains would agree he is a tough matchup for her.

Saqs is a good rose player but I think he needs to utilize Rose's ultra some more, that thing is god.

Yes.

I think lk soul spiral is the most unsafe, and hk (and ex) the safest. Dunno if you can actually get frame advantage, but they can not be punished if you hit with the tip.

I mean in one round Saqs put the skill threshold to the max, busting out FDAC combos and allsorts, all TKK had to was pull a few dash straights, headbutt and ultra and its game over.

@KiddDynamite270 Balrog is that type of character, thus his heavy punches (unlike Dudley's flurries). I find it easier to deal with Balrog if you know how to zone and know the distance of your attacks. Allowing rog to close the distance = loss, lol.

I think Saqs is right Rose is a horrible match up against Balrog. Rose maybe a bit quicker but thats about it, the match up swings in Balrogs favour. A rose player would have to be twice as skilled as the Balrog player to win the set. I mean TKK taunted during a match and said it was to easy but come on YOUR balrog what do you expect?!!?! Why not make it a more even match up and be Ken/Guile? there to many tier whores in SF4, props to Saqs being a low tier fighter and STILL kicking ass!!

Unfortunately they made Rose very linear. Once you understand her limited set of options she seems to be in an uphill battle.

Maybe it is just me, but I don't think this is one of Rose's worst matches. Rose actually does have a good number of ways to handle Balrog. Her standing Roundhouse can keep him out of his optimal range, and her slide can beat out ALL of his normal dashes.

Not true,as shown in our matches,I had to figure out that I had to low Ex rush punch you,your slide was merkin me up! She fights Rog pretty good man,it's no blowout by any means,to beat him you have to be able to apply alot of poke type pressure,that she does really good,had I not had the reflexes to catch 80% of your mistakes,you would of won this set,just my opinion though.

Although, you do have to realize that Rose's slide is a very long animation, and if blocked, can be punished by nearly any move Balrog has. Rose's projectile is too slow to really have a ranged game, so it's not too tough for Balrog to close in. Also, if Rose tries to put a projectile into one of her block strings, it can be instantly ultraed/EX Dashed/Turn punched. Also, since Rose has no overhead, Balrog can feel free to down charge for a headbutt setup. Not enough letters to continue stateme-

While Rog may have the advantage in the fight...I agree w/TKK when he says its not a blowout matchup at all. In the end I think this set came down to TKK catching on and punishing your patterns to take close fights. Many clutch ultra's to punish your links. As far as matchups.I just watched Justin Wong win an Empire Arcadia tournament using Fei Long...Knocking off some of NY's big names in the process (Sanford Kelly, Chris Hu to name a few). So its clear that its more about skills then matchups.

Okay, continued. Rose's damage output is also pretty low, against Balrog's heightened health, versus Balrog's very high damage output against Rose's less-than-normal health. And while Rose definitely has some good normals, Balrog has better ones, in most cases.
