San Soo forms use 8 directions with a center. Front back left right and the 45 degree angles. Forms in San Soo have classical and practical elements and can use all or most of these directions in the form. San Soo forms differ from school to school, like ones personality, but every San Soo form has a center which is stationary and does not move.
Which old hand form are you referring to anyways? Haven't seen that one and I dont do others' forms to post on here sorry to let you down. This form is original, sorry man.
I liked the form but I did not like the fact he only moved in a cross formation
