is isn`t that good showing such things on such a platform...even more "stupid" people can watch this and do experiments with that...without knowing of the risks..especially for children or pregnant women....
in germany it is forbidden to pregnant female dental assistant to help removing amalgam fillings- because of the possibility to harm the unborn baby--and amalgam is obviously less dangerous and toxic than pure mercury.
That's most likely elemental mercury. Which is pretty safe as long as you keep the windows open and fan going cuz it has bad fume stuff that is bad for breathing in. Like sharpies! :)
@MrDip02 Actually one person can be in contact with mercury for about 30 minutes with no chronic or acute poisoning occurring. It is a common misconception that it will make you deathly ill with just one touch. Mercuries more poisonous brethren such as dimethylmercury are the ones you need to watch out for.
People always talk about poisonous mercury vapors. If you're playing with it a short time you might as well not worry. Mercury at room temperature is closer to freezing point than boiling point, and it evaporates slower than ice. If you stick a piece of ice in the freezer, you know that it evaporates, but it takes weeks and weeks.
Amazing how dense mercury is. And people, stop freaking out. Its a dangerous metal, but its a terrible killer, the vapors are dangerous, but mercury itself is really hard to absorb.
@Aquatom95 If he touches any mercury, he can absorb it into his skin and be severely poisoned, but if he doesn't touch it, then he's okay. In this case, it looks like he touched a little bit of it on the sides of the objects in the mercury, I hope he's still healthy after this...
@dressagerider1997 It doesn't absorb that well. Yeah, it's liquid, but the skin doesn't absorb such an element well. It's the vapor that it releases that is hazardous. But that's really nothing to be scared of unless your nose is right above it
@Tbolt1000TForLife Not really. Its a tough metal to absorb, its salts are more dangerous than the metal itself. The nature of mercury is to be by itself, it has strong surface tension, which makes it hard for cells to absorb. People used to drink CUPS of the stuff as a cure for digestive problems. They didn't die in hours, they lived until something else killed them. They would have tumors form though.
I love how 90% of the comments on this video are "Herp derp this guy is stoopid. He shuld be warin' gloves. Hes gunna die derp herp". Come on people I hope you do realize that brief exposure, even direct contact, with Mercury isn't going to give you cancer or cause any sort of medical issue. Its the length of exposure to Mercury that causes sickness and damage to the brain, lungs and heart. Now if this guy goes and plays with mercury bare handed 24/7 then... herp derp he's gonna die.
@MisturrCronin all it takes is ingestion, even through skin pores, and the mercury can circulate to the brain. T hat's where it leaves a film and causes mental retardation. Probably why ur so dumb.
@MisturrCronin actually thats elemental mercury, meaning it doesnt get absorbed by the skin, its not poisonous at all really ( wouldn't recommend eating it tho.)
LOL..... Mercury is only the most deadly element that is not radioactive and this retard is playing with it with no gloves on..... This is what happens when you let children play unsupervised!!!!!
@Dannybroadsword1 Not near as bad as Mercury. Halogens are safer to deal with if you know the risks. Like chlorine is only gonna kill you if you sit there breathin the shit lol.
