The same thing happens to me when I've been screaming at a football game for hours. Since this was probably right around the time the album came out, he was probably performing like crazy, and that exhausted his vocal cords.

I have been a fan since I saw him on the Today show when he was 16. I have every CD and have seen him in concert several time. Every time I think I have a favorite song, I just have to hear the next one. "Only a Man" moves me beyond reason. My father just passed suddenly 1 month ago and I play that song to cry and comfort me all at the same time. He has amazing talent and he is the only artist that I look up just to see if he has anything new on the horizon. He is truly amazing.
