I agree ruff, and I've said this to all my friends before that boxing and MMA will benefit from each other. I understand Dana White (the douchebag) downplayed boxing, and people from boxing said negative things from MMA, but I believe its all a part of a bigger gameplay to benefit from each other! They want MMA fans to hate boxing and vice versa cause it leads to intrigue to both sides. Also, what you said about MMA forcing boxing promoters to make moves is a perfect example.
Be careful because you might get some white wrestler kid tell you about Pankration in the olympics.
But to be honest Boxing has too much history, they just need a heavyweight who is exciting and a rivalry again.
Nothing beats a toe 2 toe war man.
these young kids watching MMA only watch because its something new and because their boys watch it and they wanna start fresh because they never watch boxing.
I like both by the way but I get annoyed by the UFC fans.
ha cool vid im a big fan of both sports i watch mma like crazy and you allready know im a bigger boxing fan but you really cant compare these 2 sports in many ways but i might make a reply vid 2marrow pe@ce
It's like the difference between tennis and golf. Many people are fans of just one. Plenty are fans of both. I like your analogy of the two roommates even better.
I do think that boxing needs to consistently put out better undercards like UFC.
MMA fighters are terrible boxers in general, even the so-called strikers. But then again I'm sure decathletes are probably shitty pole vaulters compared to those who concentrate solely on that one event.
over rated fighters that would look totally weak in a boxing match n mma fighters know it! if they thought they were that good at stand up they would go 2 boxing where the money is
i like mma but im a true boxing fan! boxers r in a totally different league than mma fighters at punching! it pisses me off wen ppl dont realise that! ppl who think anderson silva or chuck liddel would beat the likes of roy jones in a boxing match must b fucking stupid! silva wouldnt last against an average bvoxer..actually silva would get destroyed by a golden gloves champion in a boxing match chuck an mma fighter in a ring wiv just boxing rules n the mma fighter will get destroyed!
I'm not a huge MMA or UFC fan but i do respect them, if their is nothing else on i will watch it, But in my opinion MMA and Boxing are 2 entirely different sports i see MMA as more of a brutal sport wheras Boxing to me will always be a sweet science of skill stamina and ring genral ship and i think it is the greatest sport period
Boxing, is the sport. Nothing is as exciting as the beatdown over many rounds of someones will, heart and stamina....

i still think boxing is the bread and butter of martial arts. Nothing is as devastating and demoralizing as fighting a guy who aims hard for the face
