    real funky.

  • I wish it was 1980 now.

  • @tardit me too

  • gooood.

  • This is Charlie Dee, I am on this record. I am glad our music is appreciated because we sure didn't make too much money back then. We did it for the love of the music and to have fun. We made this record back in 1978. All of my boys are doing okay. None in jail and all alive as productive citizens.

  • I, personally, appreciated youse music....I have this single on 12" and play it 5 dozen times a day. Keep old school alive.

  • Thank you. I appreciate the love. I have some old school cuts that we never put out that would be hits today. I'm thinking about taking a chance and put them out to see what happens.

  • Thanks for making something so beautiful

this cut is one of the best, I wish hip-hop did change but hey that's the way it is. well god bless

  • Dude. Thanks for this rap song. It is on my top 3 if not my #1 favorite of all time. You guys were awesome. The lyrics were just ultimate and just killed my brain man. You guys were definitely underrated TODAY. You guys s/b in the hip honors next year. But they don't know what real old school is. Thanks Mann. E.

  • wow, that is wayyyyy awesome. this record is amazing, thank you oh so much for it! but I would love some lyrics for this, please? :D

  • Big Shout to ya CHARLIE DEE, TERRY TEE is in the House

  • Sorry to bust your bubble CEOMaker but this song is listed as being recorded in 1980. Sounds very similar to The Funky 4 who recorded their first record in 1979. The very first rap record was recorded by The Fatback Band with King Tim III in '79. That song was followed by Sugarhill Gang's Rapper's Delight still '79. Before that time no one who was doing what then became known as hip hop thought about actually going into a studio to record what we were doing. Please keep the facts str8.

  • theres a big difference between a RECORDED song and RELEASED song ...you can RECORD a song in 2010 and it can be released to the public in 2012 and it will say 2012 on the cd

  • @soulknob

OH MY GOD!! You are a JERK. People like you made this stuff stop being fun and I HATE to BURST yer bubble But people WERE doin' stuff like this BEFORE King Tim (Read Some Books...Or CAN you read??) By the way your name fits you...You ARE a KNOB!!!!!

  • @soulknob

OH MY GOD!! You are a JERK. People like you made this stuff stop being fun and I HATE to BURST yer bubble But people WERE doin' stuff like this BEFORE King Tim (Read Some Books...Or CAN you read??) By the way your name fits you...You ARE a KNOB!!!!!

  • @MrFlashBazbo @MrFlashBazbo @MrFlashBazbo I didn't mean to upset anyone. I am just disputing the claim that it was recorded in '78. There is no way that Pumpkin, the drummer on this record, did this in '78. His first recording was Rapping And Rockin' The House/ Funky 4+1 in '79. I don't have to read to know, I was there. I first SAW Kool Herc play in the summer of '74. Notice I said "what we were doing"

  • @soulknob

and you know it's his first how? C'mon now like you said yourself there is alot of rap history that has been unwritten. OK You and I are going to disagree with all this an I don wanna fight because my people (The Cherokee) Are going through a time of great mourning right now (Please google Wilma Mankiller to understand and p.s. I cannot spell)

  • @MrFlashBazbo First off my condolences. I was in Pumpkin's garage when he auditioned for Bobby Robinson, the owner of Enjoy Records. Pumpkin was unknown to the recording industry before then. It is your prerogative to disagree but I am speaking from first hand knowledge. The song is Dope, it can hang with the best of them. I just wish that the World was told the true history and not a rewritten one.

  • @soulknob It definitely wasn't recorded in '78. It's a replay of A Taste of Honey's Rescue Me, which came out in 1980.

  • @TheCEOMaker

Hey Charlie!! I am Duane and I started Dee-Jaying in the Early Years when everyone took their shit down to the park and hooked the shit up to the park's electric..Fired up our BBQ and yelled at all the passer by "Come on Get yer Plate!!" Them's were the days!! Yep I had this in my Dee-Jay Bag and was a Floor Filler. Hey Charlie I'm glad I found this and hope you can post more of your jams!!

  • @TheCEOMaker really good to hear man... anybody still makin music for fun? maybe some rappin?? haha peace

  • @TheCEOMaker Charlie Dee ee are glad you did this record and we thank Mestizo63 for uploading this classic.

    This is the real deal!

Just sad what Hip Hop has become nowadays, just a memory cause there's almost no new Hip Hop.

  • @JEDI7ACEN - Hip-Hop is complete - enjoy the back catalogue forever - now we gotta come up with the next super-cold super-reality

  • @TheCEOMaker One of the reasons I like older rap and hip hop is the love of music and the fun you can hear from the songs. And this is coming from a person who mainly listens to metal music. This song alwas brings a smile on my face.

    Thank you!

  • @TheCEOMaker

very good tune the most repspect to you and your boys

  • @TheCEOMaker oh fucking sur you were

  • i need this!!!! somebody come off a double for me please!!!!!

  • I was born in 76 so I have limited to no knowledge about hip hop in these days. I didn't get into hip hop until about 83. thanks for posting so I can know who these early pioneers were. because vh1, bet, or even mtv is'nt going back this far; unless it's the sugarhill gang.

  • WE WANT THIS MUSIC BACK!!!
