Credits or not- you can HEAR that the kid is Cooder! The last part of the dual the style changes and it sounds a lot like Vai trying very hard to do an Yngwie Malmesteen! Love both guitarists. Genius : )

Vai did not play both parts. He played his part and the very last piece Ralph plays which is partially based on a Paganini Caprice. Ry Cooder plays all the kick ass slide stuff.

In Ralph's solo where he does two bars on the B and E strings that go G-E-B, then up one octave to B-G-E, up to D-B-G#, then down to B-G-E and I reckon his hands hain't in the correct position to play them notes as he goes up the neck, but I could be wrong. To his credit, and that of the editors etc, much of Ralph's hand positioning looks correct. Hain't easy.
