  • I can't tell what guitar Steve is playing there.......is that Charvel?

  • lembrava q o steve vai era o filho do diabo, só não lembrava que tinha uma pombagira na cena rsrsrs

  • let me guess, this is another karate kid movie, (coincidence same actor for main character,) but instead of karate its guitar seems interesting, ill watch this movie when i get it

  • shit no it's not an ibanez

After learning this version of paganini 5 caprice , it all seems so sureal.

good thing for me jack butler could never kick my ass on guitar because I would have wen't buckethead on his ass.

Yeah baby ! nobody flucks with buckethead , nobody !

    not even me.

with that being said , now I start the grooling work of learning the original version of paganini 5

Yes I'm a guitar monster who wants to burry your ass.

  • pac man sound at 7:02

  • I may have drempt it but before this movie was released Id swear their was a spark fest coming from ralphs fingers but it looked to lame for the final cut as it was before cgi

  • jack butler kicked his ass!!!!!!!

  • Ry cooder played all slide bits on ralph's part, but steve played that last classic shred thing in the end of the duel

  • buy a pick ralph macchio

  • Is it just me, or does anyone else find that woman dancing really fucking annoying?

  • @AgroCelt You ain't never been to a good, old fashioned Southern gin joint, have you?

  • Credits or not- you can HEAR that the kid is Cooder! The last part of the dual the style changes and it sounds a lot like Vai trying very hard to do an Yngwie Malmesteen! Love both guitarists. Genius : )

  • what kind of guitar is Vai playing?

  • @flowerdrop1 an old ibanez rg

  • @flowerdrop1 it is not an ibanez !! i thin it's a Jackson JS23 ...

  • Vai did not play both parts. He played his part and the very last piece Ralph plays which is partially based on a Paganini Caprice. Ry Cooder plays all the kick ass slide stuff.

  • Why they never had interview Ry Cooder and put a tele in his hand to show this deep swamp magic bottlenecksound licks from this great movie???? Come on!!! send some people to him, he is waiting. This movie have inspired so many guitarist.

  • Oh yeah, Steve's head exploded real good after this scene. Yup, it blowed up real good.

  • The dream is only in Steve Vai's head. He is the one who has been tutored by Ralph. Steve dreams he could be a 10th as good as Ralph. Think of Milli Vanilli and that is what you see when Vai is performing. He is only doing what Ralph wrote for him and what Ralph showed him. He is playing the licks and riffs that Ralph laid down. He is playing to a sound track, Ralphs soundtrack. Steve is the Milli Vanilli of today. He is a present day Monkees. A creation of producers and music moguls.

  • @THESOUNDCONSTRUCT Steve Vai plays his own part and Ry Cooder plays Ralph Macchio's part. Ralph played at the time and took lessons for the part and was an excellent student and still plays because of this film but he was not able to play those parts in the film. Look it up.

  • @Jay435 I thought it was Steve Vai who played both his and Macchio's parts in this scene... no?

  • @Jay435 I just checked in the the very credible IMDB.. indeed it says that Steve Vai plays both..

  • That Soundconstructaslum dude is off his rocker here. But I will not be the one to rain on his psychosis here... He believes that the karate kid can shred with Vai....

I am gonna let him keep living his dream !!

  • Old Slue Foot goes a walkin' ( I'm not sure I spelled his name right, but I don't think the devil will mind). Of course, you know that's not all Ralph pulling those bitchin' licks.

  • karate kid own's!

  • I propose that the name of the pentatonic scale shall now be the RALPH-ATONIC SCALE.. The Modes shall be the RALPHALYDIAN MODES, the Circle of 5th;s shall be RALPHS CIRCLE, and Music shall be MACCHUSIC!!!

  • RALPH...Nuff said

  • From now on this place shall be known only as RALPH TUBE

  • Macchio: The tutor and teacher of all who became great in the world of Guitar. Vai, Vaughan, Van Halen, Clapton, Beck, Page, Iommi, and on and on. Those men were nothing until they sat at the feet of "THE ONE" Yes, Ralph is the one who has brought to this planet the gift of technical skill and power on the guitar. Learn from this video, let it become the truth that it is to you also. May you also learn from the great one. He shall be known only as Ralph, he doesn't need a last name.

  • The amazing VAI!

  • some how this already reminds me of the 2012 election, with mit romney vs. obama taring up the the papers with MEchele(BITCH) DANCING AROUND THE WINNER AND ALL THE BLACKS GLAD TOO SEE IT,everybody sayin we glas his sorry muslim ass is gone! and we've won our ountry back! stupid motherfucker!

  • karate kid and blues & canon rock fuck yeah :) Vai funny & cool as always :)

  • Hammer on, pull off Daniel San!

  • Well done Daniel-san

  • one of my favorite scenes in a movie.

  • Ralph waxed Vai on this one, that's how it is when your the Karate Kid. Stevie, I'm sorry you lost this duel. Get yourself a sensei, get some training and come back and kick Macchio's butt on the mat.

  • @THESOUNDCONSTRUCT

Off the set ? Who owns who here ? Get real bro .....

  • @onlyafterdarkness How dare you dis THE KARATR KID. Ralph beat Steve fair and square, you saw Steve fold on the duel. If I could I would have Ralph give me both Martial Arts lessons and guitar lessons. Ralph even went down to the Crossroads, RALPH RULES, RALPH RULES, RALPH RULES, YEA

  • @THESOUNDCONSTRUCT

Are you that fucking stupid ??? Get the fuck out of here

Do you really believe that Ralph Machio could even play a guitar ?

Dude ? How many acid trips ? But hey .. made me laugh !

No go and order another pizza from Lil Caesars !! On me !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @onlyafterdarkness Check it out Bro; I get the meat lovers from PIZZA HUT! Back to the real stuff: Watch Ralph in the beginning. He has the eye of the Tiger as he methodically watches Steve. Ralph knows what he's going to play in response before Steve even plays one note. Ralph is a true Zen master of the instrument. and from what I've read on the internet Ralph tutored Vai for a few years. Look at the face of Steve at 5:29 He knows he's all done, beatin, whipped. All Ralph

  • Have a look at the OST in wikipedia.

  • It seems it's not SRV playing the slide guitar (Macchio's). It's Ry Cooder!

  • daaaaamn, get that b i t c h exorcised !!

  • ralph dont play shit.. but the great SRV does :)

  • I love your guitar style that's unique and impressive sometime we duel with you?

  • This is a movie, Machio is an actor...Machio was paid for his role as an aspriring blues guitar man...it's a movie, not real life...Millie Vanillie tried to fool thier fans by pretending to be singers...different issue all together...duh!!!

  • Ralph Macchio got paid a lot of money to mime playing the guitar songs in this movie

Millie Vanilli also mimed their songs but got crusified instead

perhaps if Millie vanilli were white they wouldn't been hung out to dry.

  • @ksonbj5737 Hahahahaha wow!! It looks like someone (you!!) is stuck on race pretty bad! Racism is dead in this generation, friend. You need a new scapegoat.

  • like most white boys Ralph Macchio looks like he had a pole shoved up his ass and a guitar placed around his neck during every scene where he pretends to play the guitar, NO MOVEMENT, NO RYTHUM, NO SOUL, lucky for us most movies are only pretend including this one.

  • @ksonbj5737 Thats because they try to make him look inferior and hopeless compared to steve vai, idiot.

  • your momma drop kick

  • Who le tthe dancing Chicken on stage?

  • When Vai dropped the Jackson he went to the join the other devil David Lee Roth and was endorsed by Ibanez

  • I know the kid wasn't really playing, but he acted very well, don't you think? it looked like he actually did it ..

  • che gran cagata 'sta scena

  • steve vai tah aki ateh hoje fazendo oq ele sabe ,pra mim nao tem novidade nesse video.Mas claro q eh um marco no cinema.

  • ........!!!!!!!!!

  • Then Rusty Cooley walks in ...

  • I've only just recently watched this amazing movie and a great performance from Ralph and the entire cast.

  • which guitar is steve vai using?

  • No way in hell Steve Vai would have made these kinds of mistakes! He is too much of a perfectionist. He would have really had to be paid big bucks to do that.

  • Steven Vai at the end, "Screw you guys, I'm going home."

  • Macchio is an actor and he is NOT playing..Ry Cooder is doing the slide work. But when he throw down the slide and wins, it is STEVE VAI playing!!

  • yes it the best music duel ever on film or in a movie, but the man that should've been playin against ralpf should've been steve V,yes STEVIE RAY VAUGHN,the REAL,the GREATEST,BEST damn guitar player ever.STEVIE RAVE ON!this would have made this scene ten times better, would made it more creditable

  • i wanna see a duel like that

  • go ahead get me wrong but Ralphy boy just cracks me up.

  • Wow, This sucks!!! movie did too.

  • @billwitt2010 At least as much as your comment :)

  • @Yaddab Yeah, which one?

  • ry cooder

  • The slide-guitar, you know, was played by Ry Cooder (not Ralph Macchio, he only mimed)

  • @WilliZBlog Ralph Machhio played every single part, however, they over-dubbed him.

  • @dvdsmlprstylr I question if this is possible for all parts, and I doubt at least one part where there's a lot of hand repositioning. In Ralph's solo where he does two bars on the B and E strings that go G-E-B, then up one octave to B-G-E, up to D-B-G#, then down to B-G-E and I reckon his hands hain't in the correct position to play them notes as he goes up the neck, but I could be wrong. To his credit, and that of the editors etc, much of Ralph's hand positioning looks correct. Hain't easy.

  • @AlexPractical According to imdb, he did.

  • @AlexPractical You're the only one who understands what the hell is going on.

  • he's really Steve vai?????

  • whitesnake rocks baby

  • It's Crossroad"s".

  • intro of steve vai, intro from bad horsie...........

  • Butler's last solo before he gets blown to hell by Eugene's reply was one of the reasons why I started learning how to play solos around three years ago. :)

  • IT WAS STEVE VAI AND RY COODER AND THE CHICKS ROLL WAS TO GET IN YA FACE YA DWEEBS you play an live blues as keb mo said itz a bout bein able to suck it up take it on the chin an roll on and laugh at you self !!!!!regards bullfrog

  • the music the boy play when he win the duel is classic, but what the name of that music?? if you answer me im susbscribe to your channel its a promise!

  • one of the worst acting performance ever !!!

    ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaa

  • And the winner is..... Steve Vai cos he wrote and played both guitar parts :P

  • that chick is really annoying

  • she has a cactus stuck in her vagina

  • LOL @ this

  • @BrodysONacid that chick is fucking ANNOYING....

  • I love this scene, and thats a beautiful telecaster

  • Beethoven on a telecaster...sounds good ..hehe !

  • @fenderguy97 it wasn't Beethoven...

  • All the pissing around you did with the clip with all your garbage annotations and fade in, fade out crap just ruined the whole fucking scene....thanks...

  • That woman is sooo annoying - not even good looking.

  • @dvdsmlprstylr - Opinions vary. Why even post shit like this??? Just shut the fuck up and enjoy the goddamned song.

  • @dvdsmlprstylr Saw this movie in the theatre with my father and I NEVER forgot what he said about that dancer, 'Watch out son, she got fleas!'!

  • @dvdsmlprstylr i'd still fuck the shit out of her asshole

  • @Hamgammy That's nasty - I actually really wouldn't even touch it with a barge pole.

  • @dvdsmlprstylr She's cute and beautiful.

  • @Davis752 You're blind and crazy.

  • @dvdsmlprstylr lol - that's what my wife said too, and you're right. ☺

  • @dvdsmlprstylr But you've got to acknowledge, she looks like she's pretty wild in the sack, right?

  • @AlexPractical Yeah, wild as in some sort of jungle disease.

I wouldn't want THAT "in the sack".

  • @dvdsmlprstylr So because she's not white, blonde haired, blue eyed you think ever other woman is ugly, your a racist pig. you should take your head out of your ass and stop being a red neck

  • @dvdsmlprstylr , come on dog, shes so friggin hot, anyone know her name.

  • @Leowen2 she's a dime. her name is Gretchen Palmer and you can see her breasts in the movie Red Heat.

  • They should have named this movie "Blues Guitar Kid."

  • Comment removed

  • big quality, big soung... sin for the interrupptions

  • Steve vai seems such a douche in this movie :P

  • Steve Vai is the greatest actor in this movie.

  • This Shit Has Been Recorded At A Faster Velocity Than The Original One... It Seems They Are Playing Diferent Notes...

  • the dancer has a pretty face of b i t c h ..;)

  • @vincy8810 Don't forget Jesus was black asswipe, how many blode haired blue eyed white gay boys did you see running around with a posse of queers during the time of Jesus, his been made to look white because then his more acceptable to white folks and makes lots of money for them now so called christians.

  • I though Ralph Macchio played the guitar part himself?

  • @horacenj naw, vai just gave him finger exercises to make it look convincing :)

  • @horacenj he does

  • devils face not so happy hahahahah

  • Is Steve vai' s guitar a charvel or a Kramer?

  • Yeah, yeah, Steve Vai and all...but I didn't know that Ralph Maccio played guitar!

  • Don't play against Steve Vai. Ever.

  • ดวลกันได้มันมาก.......... !
