Does anyone know who the drum maker is? If you can hear a good audio recording of his solos, you will be blown away by the tones he produce. Fantastic stuff.
@lindamon8 The bouzouki player is Klaus Feketics and they've known and played with each other for years, so Klaus isn't that easily impressed anymore. Besides that he's a marvelous bouzouki and guitar player. ;O)
Wow! Inspired me so much I went out and bought a drum for my son, a traditional drummer. I showed him this video and told him. Play this for me some day.
Indeed, Rolf is a Meister. The drum is certainly not plastic, the frame is fiddleback maple. the black shiny stuff on the front is gaff tape, but that's normal these days. I also have a Hedwitschak bodhran, just not as pretty. Sounds just as good though . . . Tip it up, Rolf!
Nice stuff, nice melody playing on the bodhran inthe midddle of the solo. And the drum is defenetely not plastic, is a very good quality bodhran maker, I could easily say it's one of the best if not the best (I don't own one of these) and it is very good work, it has a great idea where you can instantly tune the drum with your fingers without using a screwdriver or a key, it will be a revolution in bodhran making.
Do you play bodhran? We can discuss my playing, but a Lambeg skin drum (which is what the head is made of) is what most of the godd players and makers are looking for. This is the way it is supposed to sound. Of course, not well miked, not well recorded and then youtube encoded the video as well...
Love the tempo changes, there almost seamless!!Like all great palyers its all from the wrist, too many people i've seen play use their whole arm!!! Gonna get my bodhran out now, inspired me to play again and its been years since i last played!!! Loving the rim shots aswell, not too many players ive seen can pull that off!!
His Bodhran Is UnRaail.... :D

Or to make it even easier for you: Christian Hedwitschak's website is bodhranmaker[DOT]de
The model Rolf plays is a RWE (Rolf Wagels Edition). It has a Lambeg skin from the North.

Made of plastic? There is nothing made of plastic...apart from the heads of the screws. What do you mean?
Thanks
