  • i just moved outa redding to woodland and me n my wife r missing redding right now and your song cheered me up thanks alot we absolutely love redding the best place on earth

  • this is the number one stupidest thing I've ever seen. Redding is only cool if you're more than 60 years old and share a common hatred of young people with all the other old bags in this hick ridden redneck town. And this guy isn't really playing any of those guitar solos. This is bullshit.

  • this is the number one stupidest thing I've ever seen. Redding is only cool if you're more than 60 years old and share a common hatred of young people with all the other old bags in this hick ridden redneck town.

  • At 0:41 I know where he's playing xD like EXACTLY where

  • Loveee redding I'm going to college there! Hehe!

  • cool My son moved there 2 Years ago

  • I`ll never forget my two visits in Redding ! I Love this country ....I Love my Family and I hope, I can come again .... I don`t want to live in Germany all my life

  • I loved this video. I am away from home on an internship and am just aching for my home town. Thank you for putting my exact feelings into a wonderful song!

  • I never knew about this song, living in the Redding area, it was nice. RIP Chuck McCabe.

  • RIP Chuck! Thanks for the tunes!

  • RIP!

  • Good bye Chuck. You will be missed. Thanks for your great song about our town, and your wonderful positive spirit. You will be missed. Keep em smilin' up there!

  • Love you, Chuck! Thanks for the magic!

  • Yeah the people are pretty nice for the most part. It's a tad conservative for my tastes but it could be a lot worse. But the heat is absolute murder.

  • Loooove Redding, your song and video makes me miss it! Born and raised there :-)

  • Moved here from Boston in 1994. The Bee gee's wrote a song about Massachusets.

I am A reddingite now and the song is great =represents us well. Thanks Chuck such a catchy tune

  • Thanks for watching, folks... and thanks for embracing an area where the people have been so supportive! I hope to get up for a visit soon!

    Cheers, Chuck

  • Wow!! Watching that brought back so many MEMORIES!! I moved out of town over a year ago, I missed the friends and family that are still there, but I didn't think I would actually miss REDDING!!

The landscape of Redding is beautiful! I very much miss the lakes! Also rafting the Sac. River!

Like someone else said most the time you can't wait to get out of that place when you live there.. but after you leave a piece of you is definitely still there!! I'm now in Texas... and miss that DRY HEAT!!!

  • Man I know all these spots. My blood and family is in Redding, tho Oakland is my current home. If only the HEAT weren't such a nasty factor. Dunsmuir was 94 Yesterday! Global Warmed Redding isn't a good thought!

  • I grew up in Redding. I know live in the Bay Area. I never thought I would miss Redding. I now take a trip up there about every month to visit friends, family, and to go fishing. This song explains my feelings completely about Redding. Thank you.

  • Very nice. I get up to Redding on business once in a while and I love it. Friendly people there too.

  • about Grass Valley? It's east of Yuba City just north of Sacramento, no where near being "in between Shingletown and Weaverville" which is the exact description of Redding's location.

  • A lot of people spend their days wishing to get out of Redding, then spend their lives hoping to get back! My best friend is serving in Baghdad, Iraq, right now and she sent me this video that someone sent to her and she said it made her home sick. Believe me, I know she'd rather be in Redding than Iraq :) (technically Anderson is our home town). Thanks for sharing and for the chance to let my best friend see a reminder of home!

  • I think Grass Valley is between Weaverville and Shingletown, although it is not a direct route....

  • That's cute. I like it. Both the song and the video are nicely crafted.

  • Cool video! I was born and raised in Redding, CA and lived there for 12 years before moving to Humboldt County, and now Orange County, CA.

I love the Redding area, but as a recent college graduate with a B.S. degree in web design and multimedia, there just aren't hardly any web firms in Redding to get me to move back there!

  • Absolutely love this song!!.. Y because I've lived there and now am in a very small town in Illinois surrounded by cornfields and I'm always sayin I'd rather be in Redding *LOL*..... you can truly appreciate a song like this when your somewhere else!!.

  • Great song Chuck! It was really good to see you at the Post Office Grill. Thanks for the CD's. We can hardly wait for your return trip to Redding.

  • This is so cool! A song and youtube dedicated to my city. Awesome!!

  • wow, crazy. A song about redding. Redding is a nice place, but for me just when you wanna visit. I dont liek living here personally. But everyone is different. Im a city person. Im not a hiker, 4x4, lay around girl. lol

  • Anything I can do to help here?

  • That wasn't Shingletown when he mentioned it, or Anderson when he talked about Anderson. I also wonder why he didn't mention our 15% unemployment rate, which is twice that of the rest of the country. Also, where are all of these logging trucks he talks about? The logging industry died decades ago.

  • True - the building was the Trinity Courthouse in Weaverville (same line in the song), and he's standing at the lake when he says "Shasta Lake to Anderson", oh, and the folks that work at the SP in Anderson, Burney, Red Bluff, Shasta Lake (while all not in Redding) would probably disagree that logging died decades ago. Why can't you just enjoy a nice little song about the area vice trying to bash it (especially when you were wrong).

  • Wow Redding finally made youtube

  • It's really hot in Redding right now BUT I still LOVE it because it's a great reason to relax in the pool or the lake with your friends and family. And, you're never a long car drive from beautiful scenery! Thanks for the shout out :) - I'll be looking for you when you're in town.

  • Just watched this video while sitting in my big rig in Los Angeles, and yes, I would rather be in Redding.

  • This is awesome, just like Redding. Makes me miss it, even the summers.

  • A reminder of why Redding will always be in Chico's shadow.

  • Thanks, bro!

Although I don't live there, the people in your area have welcomed me and my music for the past few years, and have made me feel good every time I come to your town. The beauty of the mountains and lakes speak for themselves, I think. All that negative stuff is, well... just noise.

    Chuck

  • Dude. I love your song. Redding is awesome. I have grown up here and im 19 now. If people dont like redding its because they dont have enough imagination, are snobs, are big city wannabe's or are just dumb and dont appreciate the outdoors. It is so beautiful if you are an out doors person. and in the summer when its brown.. it only takes like an hr to get the a cool green place. :) I love it. and your song.

  • I lived in Redding for 25 years. He forgot the parts of how the child molesters were dropped off in Redding when they let them out out of prision . And the meth rampage, even before it was popular anywhere else. I loved how it was the parents of the kids who got your children high not the kids! And were did he come up with 90 degrees? more like 109 degrees or 190 degrees! There are beautiful places with beautiful communities as well that exist! They are refreshing! try OR ,try WA! Redding, nah!

  • Dude!

    Good geography... bad poetry

  • Ok, this song Sucks... maybe even more than Redding does.

Yuo'd think this goof would at least have his facts right. The Siskiyou's don't rise up in Redding, that would be the Cascades. He shows a pic of Mt. Shasta (in the Cascade mtn range) as he says the Siskiyous... what a dork.

  • I was born in Redding and spent 40 years in the area; didnt think Id ever leave but I did. There is life after Redding but Redding is a little slice of Heaven. Ill never regret growing up there and will always remember the GREAT times hang gliding nearby.

  • Not my style of music, but it kinda made me home sick for Redding! :(

  • I'm sure we're all happy you've found a better world to live in

    (metallica?)

  • And this is exactly why I moved from Redding is because of the ignorant hicks that live there. I loved my friend but guess what they all moved away too because it is a boring town and to be honest your giving it a worse name with this horribly written horribly scripted music video. Almost depressing after I watched this to say i grew up there.. Thank god on my birth Certificate it says Long Beach and to all you hicks please realize the modern world has no place for you anymore. :)

  • Thank god your gone

  • Loved it! Thanks for taking the time to show people what a nice place Redding is. We love it here!

  • great areas!! I miss home so bad glad ill be back 4 good the end of next month!!

  • Safe travels, GI, and thanks for your service!

  • wonderful wonderful video of redding..

the best ive seen in a long time on u-tube

    great song................... ed belluso redding

  • Just sent this to my friends around the world. Nice to share my world with them. But 99 degrees? It's been 110 this week. Good excuse to do nothing, have a cool drink and put my feet up.

  • wow... the real question is why Santiago Calatrava desided that readding would be a good place to design a bridge- WOW.

  • I just moved from Redding 2 weeks ago and this song is very accurate. Perhaps it's because Redding is so small that everyone has similar experiences. And hey, the cops know my name too!

  • this is hilarious. i've always thought of redding as kind of the "armpit" if nor cal....... no offense.

  • I think the singing could be better, but the song lyrics and scenery in the video are very good. I've travelled quite a bit over the last few years, and every time I come home I can't help but be amazed at what a beautiful area we live in.

  • I couldn't agree more!

I think we should all pitch in toward that idea, and would be happy to start with your contribution!

  • This is a fairly accurate description. It reminds me of why I left the area, but it will always leave me with fond memories of growing up there.

  • Makes me miss home (Palo Cedro)

  • Cute song. If it's only 99 degrees, you must not be in Redding!

  • Great song!! There's probably a lot of people in Redding who feel the same way.

  • Makes me miss home, joined the military so it kept me from moving back. Thanks for the memories...

  • Love this, I miss home!

  • great song!

    but argh, comic sans!!

  • I lived in California for 32 years, and spent 9 years near Redding before recently moving back to Michigan. There are definitely aspects of Shasta County that I won't miss, but this song reminded me of the things I do miss. Pretty good song, Chuck. If you ever saw Backdraft or Shiloh playing around Redding, then you probably saw me drumming. BTW, I didn't think the video was bad at all; good sync, no latency; good shots and storyboard.

  • Thanks for your comments on the video... we made it all up as we went, and weren't really looking for perfection. I know it's not 'pro' quality, but the response has been exactly what we hoped for: grass-roots and in the spirit of the fun we had doing it. I appreciate too, the offer to find some better shooters, but these guys did it as a labor of love... OK, I bought 'em lunch and a few beers. No professional actors, either... real cops, real bartenders. Hope you're drumming in Michigan! Chuck

  • that cop in the video is one of my good friends Trevor!

  • Tell him hello... he's a good sport, and a decent actor!

If they ever do a TV show called The Streets of Redding he'd be a shoo-in, now that Karl Malden's gone and Michael Douglas is too old.

  • Enjoyed the visit to N. CA

  • Okay, it was cute definitely, but PLEASE get a better videographer!! Contact me, I can give you the name of a VERY reasonable local couple that can do your music video and it will be so good it'll belong on MTV!

  • I miss the mushroom burgers, Tom the bartender, Steve the hunk - yep - living in Phx but always have Redding in my heart!! Great VIDEO - made me homesick!

  • Hey Chuck! Thanks for the magic carpet ride to Redding.

    Love the song.

  • I'd rather be in Redding! Wished I'd never left! It was a great place to live!

  • I'm packing my bags now!

  • great song about Redding!

  • Yes I would.

  • Only 99 degrees?!?

Cool song though, and good locations!

  • Cute!!!
