@firex148 Yes, if you are using a six string guitar then tune it standard (EADGBE) and everything will be played in the same positions. The only problem you may run into is in the verses where I play the 7th string low A but you can just play its octave and be totally fine. Good luck!

This guitar is my pride and joy; a custom Tom Anderson Drop Top 7 string. It has a Koa top, Basswood body, and Chocolate Maple neck. It's my best sounding guitar I think. Love it :)

@TechniqueTV Thanks! Yeah the guitar I'm using is a custom Tom Anderson Drop Top 7 string. It was ordered to spec during a limited 7 string run. Koa top, basswood body, and chocolate maple (vulcanized) neck. I love it :)

As for how I recorded it, I just took the mp3 of the song, imported it into Apple Logic Express, and opened a new track for my guitar using Guitar Rig plugin and hit record. I winged it on most of it. Thanks for your comment!

I'm trying to learn the part at about 3:07 and I'm having some trouble, can you give me an idea of how you played that? Also the part at 3:49, are all those hammer ons on the same string are is there some sweeping?

@mynameismaitiu 3:49 is mostly pull offs. I find it best to downpick the first note, pull off, and play the last note on an upstroke. It could feel weird since you're picking "in between" two strings instead of on the outsides in a typical way, but it's much more efficient that way in my opinion, and a very good picking technique to learn when getting into string skipping arpeggio stuff & things like that.

@mynameismaitiu Cool! So you're in Drop C? 3:07 will be played in 12th position on 1st through 4th strings on your guitar. 3:49 that's gonna be played on the 4th & 5th strings. Starts in the 15th position on your guitar. A quick attempt at tab here (string number in brackets):

Shape 1: [4]19th fret, pull off to [4]15th, pick [5]17th.

Shape 2: [4]20th p/o to [4]15th, pick [5]17th.

Shape 3: [4]22nd p/o to [4]17th, pick [5]17th.

Shape 4: [4]21st p/o to [4]17th, pick [5]17th.
