Pretty straight forward with the example with the mailman. But how about when you rent a place to live. Almost in all cases you go into a contract using your natural person (gov. ID), so it looks like you're bound by those "laws" 24/7, not like in the mailman case where he is only bound by those statutes while working.
You should be able to make a claim of right to a piece of uninhabited/unclaimed land (by a soveriegn) by sending a Notice of Intent/Claim of Right to all affected parties, including the peramiters of that plot of land. From there we should be able to build a house, or put a temprary shelter there to live in. Might not be practicle in Winter, but there should still be a way to do it. Maybe pay rent in advance first. I am in the same predicament but need to be free! No greater title than a land!

The land claim would work in a place like the States or Canada, but not here in EU-rope, at least in Germany, too many people for a small territory.
