Automatic weapons since the 1960's have been illegal unless you acquire the proper license for them. You have to renew the permit to own them every year. The supposed reason for the ATF going in was supposedly for automatic firearms. Then they tried to demonize the Davidians by making claims of child abuse, statutory rape, etc. Another thing people don't realize. If you have guns and the parts to make them fully automatic, they're considered full auto. Most people don't logically think that way

If you pull the trigger fast enough on any firearm it can fire at fully automatic speed. Its just a matter of skill. A large cache of rifles but only a couple that were supposedly modified. Actually the raid in Waco, Texas was planned over a year before they went in. They had been training for one full year before they went there. They had setup training facilities in the shape of the Davidian Church. So it was actually planned from the Bush administration. The Clinton administration simply went ahead with it. As a Seventh Day Adventist, I'd like to say that David Koresh had not been a SDA for a long time when he decided to form his cult. To clarify, Adventism is not a cult, it's a Christian,Bible based religion. I'll say no more except that it's unfortunate that our religion had to be named in this event, and that people should do their research before making strong statements so as to form an educated opinion and not show their ignorance to the world.

They injected CS gas into the building using CEV's (Combat Engineering Vehicle). When that gas burns, it turns into the same gas they use on death row.

It wasn't the tanks that fired the teargas grenades. The tanks were outfitted with a CS gas that was in powder form. I don't remember exactly what they mixed it with, but it was basically turned into an aerosol spray, much like a fragrance spray. As for a teargas shell they are very real. They can be fired from grenade launchers of many variety. There were also several standard gas grenades found in the remains of the Branch Davidian Church/Home.
