  • I'm learning this song and my book doesn't have the final verse! I'll have to look into it.

  • @jpsned I don't think the final verse is published in any of the songbooks (at least none that I could find). My voice teacher found the verse in a book of Noel Coward lyrics.

  • @rachrobinson If I were to perform it, I would be careful as to whether I sung the last verse. It's kind of cruel in a way, whereas the other verses are more light-hearted. You know?

  • Excellent performance! I've only heard this song mentioned twice: Angela Lansbury once sang it as a young lady as well and when I asked another British actress, Caroline Munro, if she would want either of her daughters to be an actress and, unknown to me at the time, she quoted the title. I guess it's a catch phrase "across the pond" and an inside joke among stage actors here. Excellent song by Noel Coward and BRAVO!! Ms. Robinson!
