I am not up to this level with my own dogs, but there is one dog training trick which I wish to tell: Use your way of talking and moving so that you first match dog's mood this moment and then slowly transform your ways to what you right now wish from the dog, so the dog can just be social with you and copy the right kind of mood and action from you who are his/her friend and pack member. So you can calm, make lively, make concentrate, let go free without losing contact, ...

@mourningdove169 Hi. No any dog can compete in Obedience in the UK - they just have to be registered with the Kennel Club in the working section which is different to the show section where they must be pedigree dogs. There are lots of crossbreeds in Obedience :-)

Are other events like this a purebreed only? Are there classes for mutts? Sorry for the silly question, but my bc cross would be good at this(we don't frisbee anymore).

Any dog registered on the KC activity register is eligible to compete at obedience shows. :) Doesn't have to be a purebred dog by any means!

Oops, and thanks very much for the video, I wish the BBC would start showing a bit more of what actually goes on at Crufts rather than spending half of the show answering Joe Public's pet problems. Excellent video!
