  • I was in Navy Boot Camp at Great Lakes in 1957. Didn't know much about country music. During "Service Week" the guys I worked with included a few from the South. One entertained us by repeating this song. It an a few other numbers they introduced me to was my start with a life long love affair with country music. Our country has changed a lot since then and so has the music. Thanks for hanging on to those record from back then.

  • @randomlight1 You are only garbage if that's what you think about about this. LISTEN, It is a story about a little girl who was hit by a train. it happens in someone's life all the time. You never know one day it may be someone you know. Get out of the gutter.

Gary

  • Now this is real country its just so awesome I cant listen to this without cryin. Not like the junk today.

  • Tearjerkers enrich the soul and take us out of our own little world for a little while and our own "troubles" dont seem so bad.Even big bad tough Marines cry sometimes before the hell of war replaces tears with the "1000 yard stare" shared by victors and victims alike. Be thankful you can cry and never be ashamed. Consider sometimes the plight of those whose burdens are so much greater than ours. Never ridicule anyone for crying either, their tears might be your own someday.

  • Yes this song is awesome. Modern country "music" kinda sorta comes out with a tearjerker sometimes but it seems so contrived as to lose its effect. Ol Red was the undisputed master of the tearjerker. Even the greatest country artist of all time, Hank Sr., was a close second in that dept, imo, and there is no greater Hank fan than myself out there. At any rate these two were in a class all there own along with a very select few.( Marty Robbins) Modern "artists" sound comical by comparison to me.

  • Ain't nothin more loyal than daddy's lil girl man...

  • hey you dudes!!!!,if your too macho to cry in this world, you might outa carry a whole lot of water to hell with you,its goingto be aweful hot and dry down there, and you'll be wanting to cry aweful bad!! you better soften your hearts now and do all your crying while your on earth, and believe on the lord jesus christ and bow down to him before its too late!!think about it you stupid bunch ofdudes!!!!!!!

  • @walter42194 Guess I never thought of it that way mister. I don't want to carry a bunch of water to hell either. Thanks for the encouragement. Blessings.

  • @TTmaniax ;GOD bless you, for your sweet reply !!! love GOD with all your heart , mind, spirt &soul,& and he will reward you with eternal life!!!! crying purifies the mind spirit &soul,GOD will answer a tearful, sad heart, the bible says,to be sad,so that you maybe saved,do the comandments of GOD & he will love you also !!! put him in all your thoughts.you made tears come to my eyes!! BLESS YOU !!!!!
