  • this is marvellous !

  • thank you for sharing this video. what an angel of music Justin is.

  • Love this guy so much. He's brought musical joy into my life!

  • ......Legendary Man....Having Fun......

  • From the mind of a genius comes another beautiful song. Thanks for sharing this cool video with me. "Retro Ron" on you tube playing other Moody Blues songs. Gotta love them.

  • @scotswanderer Yes last year at The OC Fair. They also did that really pretty Christmas song too. I really enjoyed them and hope they come back to the area soon.

  • The Moodies have given me an immense amount of pleasure since I was a kid.

And just think... even after we are all gone Justin's hairstyle will live on!!! :-)

  • I saw them last week. They did this song. Really pretty they way they do it now. This is a good version too. He could do a whole solo show with just him and his guitar.

  • I'd pay a lot to see him do an "Unplugged" album. Same for him and John Lodge playing together.

  • @markmvt That must have been the same tour I saw them in SoCal last summer. Made my night when they sang this. it's always been one of my faves.

  • I've seen the moody blues 19 times - the

first time I saw them in Buffalo, NY on a

Saturday night I believe , Halloween Oct .

31st 1981 if memory serves correctly

    "Driftwood" was Impressive

  • Love this tune. Listen how great his guitar sounds out there.

  • this song is awesome. i heard it live at sun city, south africa in the 1990's and as much as i knew and loved their other music, this song has been enduring. i like the relaxed acoustic version in this video. thanks for the post!

  • TY so much for posting this clip. I had never seen it before, and went on a mad dash to find this DVD. I finally come upon it on Amazon of the UK.

Its a must have for any Moody fan. I cant thank you enough for sharing this with us!

  • exceptional...een for me mates in the Moodies.

Nice humble explanation by Juston and some dad gummed good playing and singing. Best thing about these fellows is that they never waste your time with junk music.

    Tom in Utica

  • Thanks for sharing. I've never seen this

  • seems like there's quite a bit of negative comments going around you tube. that's a shame. all that aside, this is a great version of a beautiful song. i think it would be great to hear more of justins songs played solo acoustic. his songs can stand on their own without other instruments and i would love to hear them arranged like that.

  • This comment wasn't meant for Mr. Hayward, by no means. But for mr.mez. Sorry, But this kind are always around. They usually hang out at guitar stores. They never buy anything. They just hang around giving customers a headache. And management doesn't want to offend them by telling them to get lost.

  • Started to ignore U Name droppers and wannabes..so amusing. You assume? Merely expressed a complimentary observation. Never represented myself as a guitarist. Pro Audio shows was where I may have (as a student and studio owner) annoyed a few undiscovered genuises such as yourself. Just a fan, enthusiast, and merely one who appreciates artistic mastery in many forms; need not justify any credentials or credits to u....likely one never to produce or achieve anything original. Prove me wrong!

  • Still waiting.

  • Sing on Justin... Open your loving arms and let the wind take you where it will...

  • I don't know what is smoother: J's crooning 3 octave vocal range, or his (actual) manually harmonized guitar whole note sutains and riffs (widely featured throughout Seventh Sojourn). Most guitarist would have to use an ebo/slide and an Eventide Harmonizer to accomplish these soaring seamless (not chords) but 2 note octave sustains and leads which are his trade mark.

  • In the 40+ years I have been playing guitar, learning from the greats like Chet Atkins, Paul Simon, Stephen Stills, Michael Hedges, Alex Lifeson, Tony Iommi, David Gates, et al..... I have learned somethingalways proven true, without exception....People who sound as if they know something usually don't know squat. Those of you who are learning an instrument (or anything that requires a great deal of time and discipline), don't let people like this fella get to you. They aren't worth it.

  • Damned right too.

if you want to hear great guitar listen to Stan Webb of Chickenshack, he was rated as equal to Peter Green, Clapton, as one of the four greats at that time. Black Night is a superb blues track. Guitar playing takes a lifetime I know i am still learning, and it will always be that way.
