Just tried it and came out really well. Thanks a lot for sharing. I did some small variations - added kadi leaves along with green chilies and added some boiled potato cubes along with the green peas. Thanks Again !
Hi! Looks very tasty. I have a question.............I do add boiled & chopped potatoes. Have you tried adding potatoes? I have no idea how that might taste with green peas.
@Manjulaskitchen@priyamvadha123 I tried it with grated carrot and found it gave it a slight sweetness we liked. This was the first of Manjula's recipes I tried and we still love it as a snack or for breakfast. Thank you again, Manjula!
Thanks Manjula aunty for sharing so many yumy recepies with us and the way you make and explain in your videos is just awesome. Once again thank you <3
@dabul2003 Hello, it's probably not a good idea to use it as a substitute for rice regularly, as it has little to no protein at all - almost entirely starch. It is delicious though, so using it once in a while should be okay. If you are looking at gluten-free healthy alternatives to rice, try out some quinoa, a complete protein source packed with other vitamins and minerals that can be cooked just like rice. If it isn't available at your local grocery store, check out a health food place.
thank you manjulaji- I like your recipe and the clarity with how you present it. You make it simple for new people trying this recipe and I also like your new haircut and style. Be well and God Bless!
Yummy! The Maharashtrians do a lot of saabhudana delicacies. I have seen they add peanuts powder (always there in their pantry). This gives great taste and kind of binds the kichidi together and also crunchy. Plus they also add some mashed potatoes. If the whole thing is patted and deep fried in oil it becomes the crunchy saabudana vada
A sincere thank you! Your videos make it so easy. I have tried to cook Indian food many times and failed, but I made my own version of this recipe, and thanks to you, it was a delicious success! Thank you sooooo much!
i remember my granny used to make ti with potatoes instead of peas....any idea when to add them?! and should i boil them before adding or just leave the way they r!?
hi, you can add potatos just at the same time Manjula aunty added peas but make sure you boil the patatoes, peel them and cut them in dice. if you like sweet and sour taste add some sugar as well at the same time Manjula aunty adds lemon juice.. :)
I love sabudana kichidi i first tasted this recipe at mumbai simple and light breakfast .... thanks for the recipe... wish you happy new year and sorry for not fwding the jamun recipe pics i was caught up with loads of work as always .... love you :)

Does tapioca taste good plain? I was thinking about substituting it for rice because its grain and gluten free. It just seems healthier

thanks for the recipe, but tapoica balls seemed to stick to each other and they also seem to stick to the pan when i cook them what could be wrong
lokloke77 1 year ago
@lokloke77 use a non-stick pan, decrease the heat, or use more oil. :)

I do have a question.
Are the peas not cooked or are they cooked before adding to pan? from frozen, from can, or from fresh?
antlerbaby 2 years ago
@antlerbaby
I used frozen peas and you do have to cook them until peas are tender.
Manjulaskitchen 2 years ago
They are not cooked. You can see they are frozen in the prep bowl.

I always use potatoes, u've to put boiled & cubed potatoes at the same time when she added peas
aryaksh0406 2 years ago
you should boil them before adding them and cut them into cubes.also u can add curry leaves in the oil to give extra flavour.
heewee002 2 years ago
You will have to cook the potatoes. Peas can be eaten raw, potatoes cannot be.
