I would like to add my tribute to your playing of the organ. You are quite frankly sensational and I have never witnessed anyone as young as yourself playing at such a high standard. I have listened to most of your recordings and I have to say you are a young genius. Yes. come to Australia and in particular Melbourne where we have a beautiful organ in our Town Hall. Thank you and I wish you all the best for the fture.
Zorg dat je - vooral het 2e gedeelte - niet te stroperig gaat spelen. Bach hoeft echt niet staccato, maar ook niet te plakkerig. Wanneer je daar goede beheering in hebt, kun je vaak accenten beter laten horen en maak je eigenlijk meer muziek.
Volg Gert al een tijdje via YT. Groei zit er zeker in. De Domus Vivace vind ik alleen erg jengelend klinken. Enfin, dat doet niets af aan het spel. M'n complimenten daarvoor! Blijf vooral experimenteren en durf van gebaande paden af te wijken.
@sailorwannab In Bach's time organists would rarely change registration while playing. Contrast was achieved by switching manuals, which we set up before playing. This was due to the design of the organs. The Church organs he plays, are in the North German style too. Purists would say that he's playing 'correctly' by not changing registrations or having a 'registrant' to help and not 'toe and heeling' his pedals.
@sailorwannab Re the changing of stops during the playing of Bach: Ideas may have altered now but I recall being told that it was not considered to be good performance practice to do this. The players of Bach's day had no combination action, no swell-box etc. and had to deal with mechanical actions which must have sometimes been heavy and with stops which pulled in and out by several inches. In any case, the music, like this piece, often does not call for stop changes. Today, we have a choice!

Very well done Gert. That is a beautiful performance. You really made it breath and speak. All three sections knitted together perfectly. It's not an easy work to play as the middle section can sound dense and heavy, but your bright registration prevented that. Well done.
