  • good match why don't you upload A vedio of robo cop yeti or or the guy who feel throuhh A wall when he made his debute magnet man or somthing he had A metal bucket on his head...

upload that to show what wrestling was like before the Attitude Era...

Also why pepole did not watch it an saw it that was stupid or for cheldren before heyman came around with ecw an russo an wwe help make wwe A pop culture force with the Attitude Era...

you an i both Know heyman an russo made wrestling!

  • @NATIONALCOMMUNISM666 The Attitude era and Heyman both had their fair share of equally ridiculous ideas like the ones you mentioned.

And really WCW was pretty huge during it 84 ratings win over WWF, while it maintained a fairly PG rated show, so really if we look at it, the Attitude era really only helped WWF rather than wrestling.

  • @jaguar94able

pepole like sport entertainment they want to laugh an see incredible stunt an pepole fighting back stage...

majority of wreslting fan don't want to watch A two hour wrestling match with some guy in there under pant in A gym some where...

they want what pepole alway want sex an violence.

  • @NATIONALCOMMUNISM666 Yeah, which is why I wouldn't say Heyman or Vince (who just stole Heyman's idea) created wrestling. (especially since this video is real wrestling and what those two created was sports Entertainment)

and as for sex, I think that is what porn is for, and violence I think we have a good equilibrium today.

  • @jaguar94able

pro wrestling is A four ring circus once you start taking thing out you might as well not even call it wrestling any more...

the reasonw hy wrestling is so popular is it A mixture of soap opra sketch comdy show talk show sport action adventure soft core pornnography an some time even horror...

if wrestling was like it is in the vedio I an Alot of orther pepole would not watch it...

an adding sex can increase the entertainment value of the product same as music.

  • @NATIONALCOMMUNISM666 Im well aware what wrestling is seeing as I have watched since 97.

UFC seems to be doing good with added effects.

as for sex I think WWE for example doesn't really need seeing as they are doing fine enough, though they could bring back some intensity back.

  • @NATIONALCOMMUNISM666 Meh I never cared for the old days, I just watch because I stand by WWE for whatever product they have.

  • @jaguar94able

    ok you confuse me.

    peace 666

  • the best US title match of all time..

  • WTF is this shit, this isn't wrestling, the Attitude Era is real wrestling.

  • @jaguar94able Dude fuck you, the Attitude Era was true wrestling and it took Paul Heyman's ECW and Vince's Attitude era to show people that, this shit right here is total garbage and not wrestling.

  • what boring shit this is ....wrestling changed so much

  • NIKITA WAS A BEAST

  • Cena would kill these two

  • does this match actually cut to later in the match around 6:14?

  • Breaking News: The WWE is no longer WRESTLING. It is only "WWE" - They figure to take out the wrestling as well as GET The "F" OUT from WWF plus WWWF.

  • is this before the superpowers formed?

  • old school oh yeah

  • nikita...kinda resembles goldberg. I remember women would go nuts for magnum. (i was a little kid with assigned front row seats when they came to fayetteville) man your not kidding when you said the good days are gone. i miss the boogie woogie and shaska whatley...and georgous george and precious..haha. rock n roll xpress and flying burritoes, and cornett and of course the 4 horsement and legion of doom....so many...

  • This is the wrestling i wish i was around to see, but i was born in 94 and for some reasone wrestling was never as good as this AWA and Florida Wrestling

  • It's a good thing Uncle Ivan was there to stop Magnum from cheating.

  • you got it the good days of wrestling are gone

  • NWA wrestling at its finest. Just listen to that passionate crowd.

  • i have koloffs autograph

  • Good thing NWA is slowly making a comeback. Jim Crockett Promotions was one of the best, but Jim Crockett Jr couldn't stay in the Carolinas. Sam Muchnick ruled as NWA president.

  • The NWA is the only wrestling organization I know to have kept their product the same over the years (primarily wrestling-based). That may or may not have been a contributing factor to the NWA's decline in popularity and importance over the years. Which is a damn shame, because the NWA has a shitload of uber-talented wrestlers who go widely unknown, like Adam Pearce, Oliver John, and Phil Shatter.

  • these two at their best!

  • this is wrestling. it will never be like this again.

  • mother fuckers the russians should have won that fucking ref interfeared that fucking basterd magnum is a pethetic bitch

  • Shit. Nikita Koloff was jakked!

  • What a fuck. Watch MMA , not that shit. What is that? Two badly dancing mans? SHIT!

  • At the time I was a 13 year old girl and thought Nikita and Magnum were so cute. My older brother used to get mad at me because my mom would always make him take me to the Greensboro Coliseum to see the NWA matches when they came through and he really didnt want to be bothered with me.

  • could you immagine something like this happening today. this is what saturdays was abot I can remember when we first got cable and the whole way in Western PA we could get the super station out of atlanta and this wrestling. This series was amazing and Magnums rise was only ended by his auto accident a better had it happened would have been Flair and Magnum

  • Hairy wrestle

  • Magnum was a early version of what Steve Austin would become. The badass good guy who had a edge to him unlike the do-gooder Cena.

  • @RSXemperor

I think they're trying to make Cena the new Hogan, Randy Ortin (sp?) the next Austin

and Dru McIntyer the new HHH.

  • i miss wrestling so much... WWE Raw is like Saturday night live, its a joke. I wish TNA well but they are trying way too hard to be like WWF attitude era and its kind of lame.

  • @FIGHTonSC84 Smackdown is the closest thing to a old school style wrestling show these days. I don't like all of the WWE's product but Smackdown, since Michael Hayes took over as booker in 07, has been really good with solid angles and wrestling. They have more wrestling than Impact!

  • Nikita and Ivan Koloff are both American's that acted well.....see newer you tubes of them in their retirement speaking about their roles in the NWA

  • nikita was 305 lbs pure hard muscle.

  • Nikita used to scare me when I was a kid.

  • wwe is a joke compared to wrestling of the past

  • 1980's NWA was the best.

  • Magnum really sold in this one. He was a great worker who stood out above the crowd.

  • tommy young was one crazy man in the ring back them , i wish he would come back to wrestling , he was funny

  • wrestlers and wrestling are not what they were and it is a shame

  • i remember when i was a kid back in the 80s, my dad would take me to Greensboro NC, and Roanoke Va to see NWA wrestling live all the time. today i still live in the area but i have nothing like that to take my kids to. WWE still comes about one time per year but its just not the same. the good ol days of wrestling are gone.

  • I agree! In my opinion, the ONLY positive thing(s) coming from TODAY'S WWE are the DVDs featuring the "old school" matches and interviews.

  • looking at Nikita, i now know where Goldberg got his look from.

  • This is wrestling at its best throughout the 1980s, NWA Mid-Atlantic and Florida Wrestling with Gordon Solie. It's a soap opera now.

  • I know, most wrestling is so bad now I will agree, its more about ridiculous storylines instead of good matches

  • I've watched a lot of the old matches on YouTube, and they came across as more suspenseful and real than the modern-day farce called sports entertainment.

  • @Isaiah20100317 That's because back then they were trying to make it look real.

Once Vince officialy spilled the beans they've had to do more stunt work and have shorter matches.

  • @slydewinder I think you have gotten it exactly right.

  • "I know it's a terrible thought to have a Russian as the US Champion."

Wow, NWA...hooray for racial equality! >_>

  • russian vs. US is not a race. I dont know where people are getting this information on race. Negro, Asian, Caucasian= races. Russian, German, Italian, Brazilian, Chinese, Australian = nationalities. A white american and a russian are both the SAME race.

  • i was there

  • lol wen the ref searches them at the start he looks like hes tryin to touch them up

    ;)

  • Thats whats missing from wrestling today the lock up at beginning.

  • That is funny. I see a comment that Greg Valentine was better than Magnum T.A.. Greg Valentine was a big stiff. Sorry as they come

  • man, Nikita was jacked. Pretty obvious he was on the "juice".

  • Yeah They all were!!!

  • Yeah, Nikita was awesomely powerful. The mid 80's you had the Road Warriors, Nikita, Doom, lots of massively, bulked up muscle freaks who were ready to beat the sh*t outta anybody at anytime. I seriously think these huge powerhouses gave a complex to the pencilneck viewers at home.

  • Yeah it sucks what happend to Magnum T.A.(Terry Allen) with his car accident he was suppost to wrestle Ric Flair at Starrcade "86" for the NWA world heavyweight championship and that would have been a awesome match to see.

  • You notice something about this video. NWA in the 70's & 80's always had the "realism" feeling that WWF never had. The way the video was shot, the talent, the promos. Also something most people overlook...the cement floor with NO PAD! This further proves that all of the guys wrestling in the NWA in those days were true professionals, trained properly and almost flawless in their craft! A big reason why there is so much injury today is lack of desire and lack of training.

  • I think the best wrestler of all time is Ricky Steamboat, but many people will disagree. You can't deny the Dragon was one the all time greats, though.

  • Nikita Koloff is from Minneapolis, and with his real name being Nelson Scott Simpson, he's probably of English descent, like fellow Minneapolis wrestler, Mr. Perfect, Curt Henning. I also find it ironic, that in the 1980s, the decade of what was thought to be an upcoming nuclear war with Russia, wrestling needed to demonize the personification of an alleged Russian villian, against a patriotic American wrestler, i.e. Magnum T.A., Lex Luger, Dusty Rhodes, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, etc..

  • I am somewhat friends with Jimmy Valiant and Ivan Koloff, we all miss wrestling when it was like this, it just dosent have the magic that it once did.

  • Magnum was far from the best US Heavyweight champ ever. Johnny Valentine, Terry Funk, Ric Flair, Greg Valentine, Blackjack Mulligan were all better.

  • You forgot Ronnie Garvin.

  • OMFG I saw this match back in the day, thank you for posting it!

  • Magnum T.A hands down is the BEST US Champ in Wresting History.

  • Jon, no disrespect but Wahoo put Magnum over to be champion. Where I think Magnum would have gone on to a pretty successful career if there'd been no accident, he was still green and learning his craft at this point. Wahoo, Johnny Valentine, Ric Flair, Greg Valentine, Roddy Piper, great U.S. Champs that I'd put ahead of Magnum any day.

  • The fuckin' ref kicked Nikita's arm!!!!!! What a rip-off!!

  • this was back in the day when wrestling was old!!

  • Fail...

  • Notice the resemblance between Nikita and Bill Goldberg which I think Goldberg actually resemble his style from.

  • fuck no. goldberg is trash compared to koloff

  • GhostlyPapaya: You have to be the biggest mark in order to write something so ridiculous like that one! Bill Goldberg would destroy Nikita Koloff like he was a preliminary wrestler!

  • LOL, i'm the least biggest mark. I don't know about outside the ring, but inside, Koloff is a hell of a better wrestler. Get this...he actually sells!

  • Hey, GhostlyPapaya? Sells what? Nikita Koloff sells his dick in Ivan Koloff asshole, that's what he sells.

  • Thank you for adding so much to the conversation.

  • GhostlyPapaya? You welcome.

  • LOL, and a sell it was. Nikita Koloff is an American, and not even a Russian American, at that. And Ivan Koloff is French Canadian. However, a catchy wrestling angle gimmick, back in the 80s, was to stir comical animosity between American wrestlers, and those "other" wrestlers, who were billed to be bad guys, from Russia. Remember Krusher Khruschev, the Russian Assassin, and Nikolai Volkoff?

  • AMEN, Goldberg can't hold his jock.

  • southernpurewrestling . com has launched !!!

  • NWA at it's finest.

  • The only difference between back then and now IMO is that the lights are brighter and more entertaining...but they still get it in if you really watch it...characters just aren't pushing themselves like these dudes...old school really tellin the story wrestlers don't do anymore.

  • I remember Magnum TA And Nakita Use To Go At it Back In The Days

  • Vince McMahon ruined wrestling!

  • He sure did!! Its not the same!!

  • A great muscle and strength match.Excellent camera shots/focus on the guys in the ring, enhanced the enjoyment level of viewing this match.

  • this, what you call old school wrestling.now days wrestling is a soap opera

  • I agree and I loved the finish, old school NWA wrestling was so much less predictable because if two superstars fought they never won with their finisher, which is all the WWE does

  • Definiton of Boor: a rude or offensive person...I agree OMG!!!!...obviously someone watches UTUBE, and misses out on homework.

What a great match though, as a kid I always was a fan of Nikita.

Does anyone know what happened to him?

  • He came back a few times, the last time without the roids but with hair, he looked weird 20+ lbs lighter with a flattop. He was wrestling Vader [who was defending the US title for Rick Rude] and I believe he broke his shoulder and retired. He legally changed his name to Nikita Koloff from Scott Simpson and he runs a Christian-themed indy promotion.

  • booooooring omg -.-

  • xhjgf...for you to say thats boring shows your lack of knowledge of wrestling.was it boring cause nikita didnt say "u cant see me"? grow up and come back when you understand what real wrestling is all about and this crap they have on today

  • i hung in there watching until last week when rick retired im done with it now . ill just watch these old episodes on the big e now .

  • i hung in there watching until last week when rick retired im done with it now . ill just watch these old episodes on the big e now .

  • I remember this so well, I was about 12 at the time. NWA wrestling was the best!!! The Road Warriors, Magnum TA, Dusty, the 4 horsemen, I miss all of them. It's like a soap opera now and I hate it.

  • this is booring

  • Magnum TA was my favorite wrestler of all time him and Nikita had some Huge wars

  • These were some of the real warriors of the business. They put WWF talent to shame. And in all fairness, WWF was on to something early '80's but really couldn't keep up with the real talent in the NWA. Vince just had better promotion skills and more money. And Hulk Hogan in his prime. The whole world loved Hogan.

  • Or hated terry bollea you are righ though this feud was great ashame that what happed to magnum ta to end his career

  • They say Magnum was about to get a huge push. He was supposed to face off with Ric Flair in a huge feud. Too bad that accident happened. He was about to be a huge star.

  • this is the first time I have heard that but with what happened with this feud between koloff and TA could you immagine what a feud with flair would have been geez that is almost to much especially with at this time what flair ment to the NWA could have this prevented what happened latter with the WWF hmm can remember with baited breath at each of these three matches between the two this was match 2 I beleave could you immagine a war between the two golden boys

  • Match up would have been huge.

  • this is son of grunt 68-69 about Vince Mc mahon's promotion skills all he had & has was a crapload of money thats why alot of people went

    to the wwe.

  • I remember watching this when it was fun, funny and at least believeable! Me and my daughters and even my mother and nephews would watch every weekend episode. The afternoon episodes AND evening episodes on the weekends. We never got enough. I met Dusty Rhodes in person about 10 years ago and got an autographed picture AND an off the floor hug!I recorded these on VHS ,but lost them.I' loved these guys!

  • if i remember correctly didnt these two finish this series at the great american bash. if thats the same series then i have it on video vhs

  • That finish seems kind of weird. It's one thing when the heel uses the ropes for leverage to get a pin and the referee breaks it, but what's the thinking on breaking the ropes when the wrestler is using them to save himself? It'd be like a ref knocking a guy's foot off the rope and counting a pin. I doubt any fan there cared that the evil Russians got cheated though.

  • nikita was a good heel nd ta was a good athlete

  • Wow Nikita is a big boy I think thats Ivan next to him right?

  • Good Lord,,

this is when wrestling was so good..

I remember every Sat. evening setting around watching this with my Dad, on TBS,, I was about 12 when this was on. It was the greatest times,,, the 4 Horsemen, the Russians, the heros, such as Magnam T.A. and Dusty,, Jimmy Garvin,, Ronnie Garvin, The Road Warriors, the Ragin Bull,, the list goes on and on,.

This was the greatest times, when the WORLD TITLE meant something....

    AHH, THE GOOD OLD DAYS...

  • WOW, this is way more entertaining than the WWE shit we get now. Alot more action involved.

  • Whoever was doing color with Tony must not have had a wrestling background.

  • mmmmmmmm slim jims

  • Thats David Crockett...his brother Jim Crockett Jr. owned the company

  • who won the series?

  • Magnum 4-3 I believe

  • No Nakita won it 4-3

  • @dutedo Someone might wanna correct me, but I believe Magnum TA had his fateful car accident before this series could be completed...or maybe it was afterwards, I don't remember, but I'm sure it was in 1986.

  • @madmanszalinski It was during this series of matches I believe. The wreck happened in mid october, triggering Nikita to side up with Dusty in honor of Magnum's wrestling ability. Pretty good angle in my opinion.

  • @doomed7t1 the wreck happened after the matches cause Nikita had won the title at the GAB and the accident was October

  • @madmanszalinski @doomed7t1 the wreck happened after the matches cause Nikita had won the title at the GAB and the accident was October

  • BACK WHEN WRESTLING WAS REALLY GOOOD!

  • DAMN Right!!

  • THIS MATCH IS A CLASSIC

  • This stuff might have worked 20 years ago on television as part of a mixed programme of ventertainment within multichannel television etc, when computers could not do half what they do today, but put on here it just lacks tension, shame because the russian was handsome.

  • 2Ruthless07 - Are you fucking stupid? Go wank over TNA you stupid shit. This history is for grown ups.

  • AMEN! This is when wrestling was truly Pro Wrestling. Magnum TA was so over in the NWA. He was a future World Champion had he not had that horrific car accident.

  • corwection they do own this makes my case than

  • no i dont work for WWE but you guys out here are funny cause you complain when wwe shuts these videos down but yet you post them nkowing that you should not post wwe owned stuff

they dont own this ok so what i feel that wcw library came with more than just nwa crockett stuff anyways

its like illegal immigrants they sneak in and complain when they are caught saying they are citizens

dont post wwe stuff and there wont be a problem

  • This has nothing to do with "WWE"! This is classic NWA wrestling. I like how the WWE tries to assimilate wrestling history into their own product and then try to claim it as their own. That, Sir, is T-Total horseshit!

  • You got that right!McMahon is slime on an out-house toilet!

  • watched wrestling since the age of 5 and paid attention to the rules.

  • Great video I miss the old wrestling this is so cool to see this stuff again thank you

  • yes he can. if the wrestler is in a situation and holds the rope, the ref can exercise the 5 count. if not, he can kick the arm loose.

  • dude this is violates copyright wwe has every right to take this down

  • Why? This isn't WWE Copyright video.

  • yeah it is vince bought all awa and nwa /wcw and ecw videos

  • what right do you have to post wwe owned stuff / out there ok?

  • Pretty funny considering Nikita was really named Steve Simpson and went to Moorhead College

  • BTW to the User that posted this video, the audio and video is not matching up. Please correct that

  • its fine, your computer sucks

  • No, it isn't their computer... The sound is off. You hear the sound before it happens on the video.

  • Nikita Koloff wins 4 falls to 3

  • Nikita Koloff 4 falls to 3

  • Not many people realize that enormous political pressure was facing the Koloffs. If they returned to Moscow without the US title, the Kremlin would send them to a gulag in Siberia.

  • Old School Rocks! mid to late 80's and 1st few years of the 90's were great. The new wrassling is crap. These were times were you could believe there was hatred while knowing it was staged. Good times Good times!!

  • What an UPSET!

  • Awesomeness, thanks for bringing back some good memories. I had forgotten just how HUGE Nikita was. DAMN! And ya know what, the Belly to Belly of Magnum is still a better finisher then some of these "High Spot" finishers we have nowadays. Great match and series between the two.

  • Great old school footage. Who ended up winning the US Title back then? The US champion I was most familiar with back in the 80's was mean ol' Stan Hanson.

  • Can any post any of the other matches in the series between these 2?

  • David Crockett is a douchebag.

  • Now this is when the "Great American Bash" was the "Great American Bash". The NWA ran the great American Bash all around the United States from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day Weekend. Match 4 of the best of 7 series: Magnum TA vs. Nikita Koloff!!

  • Is this clip from the BASH'86? and how come there is

lots of space between the ring & the fans? That arena

should of had a sell out packed fuul of people.

  • I was there... Great American Bash '86, Greensboro Coliseum... Awesome night!

  • thx for the post,i really enjoy this classic wrestling, brings back memories.
