  • great info thanks.

  • Dr. Hemangi of Noble continues: “These are early days and certainly all evidence that the combination of liberation and stem cell therapies working together at this point is anecdotal. However I am not aware of other medical facilities in the world that offer the synthesis of both to MS patients on an approved basis and it is indeed a rare opportunity for MS patients to take advantage of a treatment that is quite possibly unique in the world”. • Some of the questions these people asked were just terrible. I wish I could have been there to talk to him after the lecture. He does a pretty good job of explaining some of the basics behind cloning in a way thats pretty understandable to one who knows little about the mechanisms involved.

  • these are high school students? how could the questions be terrible if their curiosity insists them on asking?

  • Some of them were kind of probably just for the t-shirt. I'm in middle school and new some of the answers to their quesiton :)

  • Play with your frogs, leave the humans alone. Microscopic cannibalism is not appealing. Stop trying to 'cheat'.

  • omg, so cool.

  • "ES cells, unlike adult stem cells, cannot be used directly in therapy because they cause cancer. Indeed, one laboratory test for ES cells is to inject them into mice and analyse the teratoma (a tumour formed of foetal tissue) that arises." Scientific American. iPS (not embryonic) is the future of stem cells for disease study and other stem cells are already fulfilling embryonic's empty promises. Embryonic stem cells are based on old ideas and promoted as way to get stuff for researchers.

  • tell me then, how come we havent seen any parkinson pateints improve with adult stem cells?

  • @916bigAl

I think it might be such because there exist other factors that could affect the progression of the disease, like he had said, environmental factors. (,")>

  • Absolutely false. You are reading too many pro-lifers in sheep's clothing. Even if embryonic stem cells were far less efficient and far more dangerous than adult (the OPPOSITE is true), that would still be no reason to toss aside stem cells. You are creating a false dichotomy...Scientists intend to work on BOTH adult and embryonic stem cells, as always.
